Woman-Owned Startups Take First and Second Place

PLEASANTON, Calif.: #CharmHealth--CharmHealth, a leader in healthcare technology solutions for providers, today announced the winners of its 2024 Innovation Challenge. Now in its fourth year, the Innovation Challenge was designed to uncover transformational ideas that will fundamentally improve healthcare and its underlying systems and processes.

This year marked a record number of participants across each of the six categories: Hardware Accelerated AI, Generative AI, Tech-Led Innovations, Mobile Health Apps, Healthcare Accessibility, and Population Health. From those submitted, 18 semifinalists were chosen to present to investors, incubators, and partners during a Pitch Day event, followed by six finalists selected to present to a judging panel — part of the sold out Charmalot Annual User Conference.

The 2024 Innovation Challenge winners are:

  • First Place, $10,000 prize: Tina John, founder of Avira Health, supporting postpartum mothers in early stages of motherhood and breastfeeding.
  • Second Place, $5,000 prize: Olga Muller and Olga Ryzhikova, founders of Kepler Team, an innovative software development boutique-style agency known for its proprietary product engineering framework.
  • Third Place, $2,500 prize: Joe Cody, founder of Grain Fertility, a comprehensive fertility tracking and organization system.

Honorable mentions include: Advanced Health Academy, Hormony, and Molecular You.

“This year’s Innovation Challenge was truly remarkable. The quality of the companies that submitted and the level of innovation that they demonstrated underscore how quickly healthtech is evolving,” said Pramila Srinivasan, Ph.D., CEO of CharmHealth. “Their ideas should inspire hope for the future, and we are honored to help them bring these technologies to market, discover the right customers and partners, and secure the funding they need to mature.”

In addition to providing opportunities for funding and mentorship, CharmHealth offers access to resources, educational materials, and workshops focused on EHR-related topics, helping entrepreneurs refine their product offerings and enhance their market readiness. CharmHealth also opens its extensive ecosystem of support that includes connections to potential clients, users, and partners within the healthcare industry — both at the Charmalot event and through CharmHealthApps, CharmHealth’s own health IT marketplace.

CharmHealth’s Innovation Challenge is known for spurring an active knowledge exchange and sparking conversations that will influence the future of health. Attendees walked away with ideas to enhance future product development, enabling all parties to stay agile, adaptive, and competitive in a rapidly changing market. Fostering such dialogue reinforces CharmHealth’s belief that the future of healthcare technology will be built through collaboration.
