SAN JOSE, Calif.: #Boyd--Boyd is exhibiting Google’s recently released two-megawatt Project Deschutes Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) at the 2025 Open Compute Project (OCP) Summit in San Jose, California. The fifth-generation Project Deschutes represents a major milestone towards accelerated liquid cooling adoption within data centers. See the CDU at Boyd’s 2025 OCP booth #C18.
The new CDU features 2 megawatts of cooling at an aggressive 3°C approach temperature difference (ATD), in addition to 80 PSI available pressure to enable advanced cold plate designs to cool future high power AI processors. Fully redundant power feeds for each pump circuit and 0.2 micron side stream filtration reduces maintenance needs and keeps coolant clean for extended lifetimes and maximum uptime. The CDU design is streamlined to implement in existing data centers with IEEE 519 Ultra Low Harmonic Distortion (ULHD) Variable Frequency Drives to maintain clean facility power, optimized to minimize impact on existing infrastructures, and includes an extra 230VAC convenience port for a fill cart for easy setup.
“We’re honored to showcase Google’s Project Deschutes CDU design at the 2025 OCP Summit,” said Jerry Toth, Boyd Chief Technology Officer. “We built this CDU to uniquely meet the demanding specifications set by Google to enable high performance cooling in advanced AI data centers.”
Find the Project Deschutes CDU along with Boyd’s complete CDU and data center liquid cooling product lines in its OCP Summit booth #C18. Boyd manufactures the 2 megawatt CDU, liquid cooling loops, and liquid cold plates for AI data centers within its global high-capacity manufacturing facilities supported by a global service team with regional availability in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
