Software platform uses AI and machine learning for rapid fusing of complex data into shared, real-time view of battlespace for faster, smarter and safer action under fire

ARLINGTON, Va.: Leonardo DRS, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRS) announced today the launch of SAGEcore™, an integrated software platform that brings artificial intelligence, advanced sensors and edge computing together in a single, deployable solution for use on tactical platforms across multi-domain environments.

Designed for real-time battlefield operations, SAGEcore is optimized to run AI on ruggedized edge computers and is engineered to rapidly process complex data on-platform, ensuring high reliability, reduced latency and operational continuity in the harshest conditions. By processing complex data on-platform, SAGEcore gives warfighters precise, immediate situational awareness and rapid decision-making capabilities, crucial for success on the battlefield.

"What's new isn't just the tech-it's also how we've engineered it to work together at the tactical edge," said John Baylouny, Chief Operating Officer at Leonardo DRS. "Our platform merges AI, sensor integration and ruggedized computing to sense-and make sense of-an increasingly complex battlespace. This launch reaffirms our mission to equip warfighters with real-time tools for decisive action-while creating enduring value for our partners and stakeholders."

One Software Platform. Many Capabilities. Built for the Tactical Edge.

SAGEcore is optimized for the compute environments found on tactical vehicles, airborne platforms, maritime systems, and space vehicles. It processes multiple sensor feeds—including radar and infrared and a variety of intelligence broadcasts in parallel, delivering AI-powered insights where they're needed most.

Key capabilities include:

  • Seamless integration of AI and machine learning algorithms developed by trusted partners
  • Real-time AI/ML algorithm execution using ruggedized GPUs to meet critical mission objectives, like threat detection, target tracking and command-and-control (C2) functions
  • Multi-sensor data fusion using open standards like sensor open systems architecture (SOSA)
  • High Assurance Encryption and Cross Domain capability built-in
  • Incorporates PACE (Primary, Alternate, Contingency, Emergency) communications for mission-critical reliability
  • Interoperability with external battlefield management and C2 systems

When paired with Leonardo DRS's AI Processor, the system reduces latency for safety critical, high-bandwidth data streams, manages multiple targets simultaneously and enables faster decision cycles— even when disconnected from external networks.

Mission-Ready for Counter-UAS, EW and Autonomy

Whether for Counter-UAS, electronic warfare, or autonomous systems, SAGEcore scales to support a wide range of tactical missions. Through partnerships with defense agencies and industry innovators, the platform ensures seamless integration of advanced sensing, machine learning and edge compute in one cohesive stack.

Built for Collaboration. Ready for Acquisition.

Leonardo DRS has a proven track record with both non-traditional acquisition pathways such as OTAs and more established acquisition models. This enables rapid innovation cycles and deployment timelines to meet mission needs. Let’s partner to accelerate mission success and foster defense innovation - and to bring mission-ready AI to the tactical edge.
