A new analysis from the company's Dogpile Developer team suggests AI agents relying on a single search index see only about half of what's findable; Dogpile Fetch was built to close that gap - and installs in Claude Code, Cursor, or any AI agent in under two minutes

Dogpile Fetch installs in Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client in under two minutes. Every query is classified and routed to the best backend automatically, returning ranked results, knowledge graph data, and People Also Ask questions. For harder questions, a Deep mode breaks the query into multiple searches and deduplicates what comes back. Pricing starts at $2 per 1,000 calls, with a free monthly credit and no credit card required.

The MCP launch is grounded in new research. In an analysis published this week, the Dogpile team ran real agent queries through seven popular search APIs and found that any single search index surfaced only about half of what the others could collectively find. A person notices thin results and searches again. An AI agent doesn't - it takes ten results and writes a confident answer.

"We measured it: pick any one search tool and your agent misses about half of what the other indexes find," said Chris Testa, System1's Chief Technology Officer. In 1996, no two search engines agreed on anything, so Dogpile searched them all at once and piled up the best results - hence the name. In 2006, a study commissioned by Dogpile's then-parent company ran 12,570 real queries across the four major engines of the day and found that 84.9% of first-page results appeared on only one. Twenty years later, Dogpile's new analysis found the same pattern holds for the search APIs powering AI agents - and this time, the searcher can't tell what it's missing.
