Crypto-Agility is Critical for Post-Quantum Cryptography so Organizations Can Quickly Change Algorithms without Rebuilding or Replacing Systems as Standards, Threats and Regulatory Requirements Evolve

SAN MATEO, Calif.: #Gartner--QuSecure™, Inc., a leader in post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and cryptographic agility, today announced it has been recognized by Gartner as a Sample Vendor for crypto-agility solutions in the Gartner® Hype Cycle™ for Zero-Trust Technology1, the Gartner® Hype Cycle™ for Application Security2, and the Gartner® Hype Cycle™ for Data Security Technologies3.

QuSecure feels this recognition confirms its advancements in PQC and its mission to ensure public and private sector organizations are secure ahead of looming quantum computing threats to data security. In its view, inclusion in these three reports comes as post-quantum migration timelines compress toward 2029 targets, increasing pressures on organizations to move from planning to execution amid rising “store now, decrypt later” threats and new standards from NIST and CNSA 2.0.

“Gartner’s recognition of QuSecure in my view reflects the excellence and trust the team has built in the industry over the past seven years,” said Rebecca Krauthamer, QuSecure CEO and Co-Founder. “As timelines for quantum-safe adoption shrink to 2029 and 2030 for organizations across the world, the crypto-agility migration has become core to annual operating plans. Organizations need visibility into their cryptographic environments, policy-based control, and a practical path to migrate without redesigning applications or replacing hardware. QuProtect R3 was built for that operating reality, enabling quantum-resilient cryptography across enterprise IT, tactical networks, and mission-critical environments at a tenth of the time and cost of status quo migration methods.”

According to Gartner, “There is a 75% chance that nation-state actors will have a cryptographically relevant quantum computer around 2030, necessitating the move to PQC alternatives…Cryptography usage is growing and the systems using cryptography are becoming more dynamic, demanding more scalable, efficient and agile management practices to support them…Emerging regulations and other mandates are directly or indirectly requiring crypto-agility, such as PCI-DSS, DORA and CA/Browser Forum Ballot SC081.”1

QuSecure’s solutions are uniquely designed to deliver a cryptographic security layer across integrated and distributed defense networks, including centralized cryptographic management (including automated cryptography discovery and cryptographic inventory management) and PQC. They are built on NIST PQC algorithms, securing defense communications today and future-proofing missile defense systems. QuSecure’s crypto-agile and zero trust cryptography solutions provide anti-fragile, resilient, network encryption using PQC ciphers to secure network infrastructure, nodes, and applications from adversaries.

According to Gartner, “Cryptography algorithms and associated parameters require maintenance. This can include the periodic rotation of keys and certificates, migrations to safer alternatives as computing power improves and once-secure algorithms and key lengths become deprecated, and urgent change in response to compromise. The more crypto-agile your implementation and management of cryptography is, the more seamless and efficient this cryptographic maintenance becomes.”2
