Technology-enabled remodeler expands New England footprint into Connecticut, where more than 72% of housing stock predates 1970

MECHANICSBURG, Pa.: West Shore Home, one of the fastest-growing home remodeling companies in the nation, has entered the Hartford, Connecticut, market, bringing its bathroom, window, door, and full-flooring remodeling services to a region that Realtor.com ranked the No. 1 housing market among the 100 largest metro areas in the United States for 2026. Hartford marks West Shore Home’s third New England location, extending its national footprint following two launches in the Greater Boston market earlier this year.

The Hartford–West Hartford–East Hartford metro area’s 1.17 million residents face housing conditions pushing many toward renovation over relocation. Home prices have risen 23.6% year over year, while housing inventory sits approximately 63% below pre-pandemic levels, the most severe inventory deficit in the country. The region’s aging housing stock amplifies renovation demand, with approximately 72% of homes built before 1970 and more than 40% predating 1939. Connecticut’s median year of housing construction is 1966, among the oldest in the nation.

“Our launch in Boston earlier this year showed us just how much demand exists across New England. Hartford was a natural next step,” said B.J. Werzyn, Founder and CEO of West Shore Home. “The housing stock here needs updating, and homeowners are choosing to invest in their current properties rather than navigate one of the tightest markets in the country. That's where our technology platform and employee model make the biggest difference.”

West Shore Home uses Scan-to-Plan technology that creates 3D digital replicas of spaces during consultations, enabling homeowners to visualize projects and receive real-time pricing before work begins. Company-employed installers complete bathroom remodels in as little as a few days, with similar timelines for window, door, and full-home flooring replacements. The approach eliminates common renovation pain points such as coordination with multiple subcontractors, uncertain project timelines and surprise costs.

Since its founding in 2006 as a one-man window and door remodeler, West Shore Home has completed over 330,000 home renovations, generating a proprietary dataset that informs its AI-powered scheduling and resource allocation systems. The Hartford expansion extends the company’s footprint, which operates in more than 40 markets nationwide.

Hartford-area homeowners can schedule free design consultations and explore West Shore Home’s services at westshorehome.com.

Located at 75 Brainard Rd., Hartford, CT 06114, West Shore Home will hire locally across design, installation, plumbing, and management roles. Those interested can visit the company’s Careers page for more information.
