Austin semiconductor pioneer achieves three-year 145% revenue growth from 2022-2025, protecting over 70 space missions with radiation-hardened microcontrollers

AUSTIN, Texas: Inc. magazine has again named VORAGO Technologies to its 2026 Inc. 5000 list, climbing 65 spots to #2,789 from last year’s ranking. Marking its fifth appearance on the prestigious entrepreneurial list, VORAGO more than doubled its revenue from 2022–2025. The company also placed #32 in the Engineering sector, #300 in Texas, and #88 in the greater Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos region, equating to across-the-board rank increases from 2025.

VORAGO designs and manufactures radiation-hardened (rad-hard) and radiation-tolerant (rad-tolerant) microcontrollers (MCUs) and microprocessors (MPUs) built to withstand severe radiation of up to 300 krad(Si) Total Ionizing Dose and extreme temperatures from -55°C to 200°C (-67°F to 392°F) typical in deep space exploration and satellite missions.

Since its 2004 founding, the company has shipped over 24,000 products worldwide and supported more than 70 space missions. Recent highlights include NASA’s Artemis II mission and Orion spacecraft, the joint NASA-Italian Space Agency (ASI) LuGRE (Lunar GNSS Receiver Experiment) lunar payload initiative, and the U.S. Space Development Agency’s (SDA) phased constellation deployments, known as tranches.

"We are pushing the boundaries of satellite and space computing by bringing specialized, radiation-protected silicon within reach for every mission," said Bernd Lienhard, Vorago CEO. "By matching right-sized radiation performance directly to mission profiles, we eliminate steep non-recurrent engineering expenses and enable New Space innovators to deploy and scale breakthrough applications from LEO to GEO-where upscreened COTS components and software workarounds routinely fail."

Building on its widely-adopted proprietary HARDSIL® technology, VORAGO doubled its product portfolio in 2025 with targeted, cost-optimized silicon for high-growth space and defense markets:

  • VA4 Arm® Cortex®-M4 MCUs: Rad-tolerant chips with right-sized LEO radiation protection-delivering far higher survivability and virtually eliminating soft errors (“bit flips”) than standard commercial silicon at one-tenth the cost of legacy rad-hard.
  • VA7230 Space Edge Processor: The company’s first Arm®-based microprocessor with an embedded GPU to accelerate real-time space AI, computer vision, and high-performance edge computing in orbit.
  • VA5 Dual-Core Twin MCUs: Scalable rad-hard and rad-tolerant controllers with accelerated speed, throughput, and 5x the capability of the single-core VA4 for flight-critical payloads.

“Every company on the Inc. 5000 has a story of perseverance, smart decision making, and a refusal to sit still,” says Mike Hofman, editor-in-chief of Inc. “Their growth reflects more than strong financial performance. It reflects creativity, resilience, and the customer focus required to build companies that make a lasting impact. We congratulate all honorees on this significant achievement.”

Inc. stated that the 2026 Inc. 5000 list recognizes a new class of businesses redefining what growth looks like. From AI and advanced manufacturing to healthcare and professional services, honorees are expanding their impact, creating jobs and proving that entrepreneurial ambition continues to fuel the U.S. economy. Among the 5,000 companies on the list, the median three-year revenue growth rate was 130%, and those companies collectively added more than 627,208 jobs to the U.S. economy over the past three years.
