New office connects Bentley’s rich engineering heritage with Philadelphia's cutting-edge tech future

PHILADELPHIA: Bentley Systems, Incorporated (Nasdaq: BSY), the infrastructure engineering software company, celebrated the opening of a new office in Center City that will act as a technology hub for its developer ecosystem and provide an experience center where infrastructure professionals, students, and partners can explore innovative solutions for infrastructure delivery and performance. The new office is located at the Curtis Center, a Philadelphia landmark with a long history of innovation, having served as the headquarters of Curtis Publishing, one of the most influential publishing companies of the early 20th century.

From its early days operating out of a modest suite at the University City Science Center to its corporate headquarters in Exton, Bentley has built a legacy fundamentally intertwined with Greater Philadelphia. Over four decades, Bentley has grown from an ambitious local startup into the global infrastructure engineering software leader, continually drawing on the region’s deep pool of technology and engineering talent. Bentley’s commitment to Philadelphia’s innovation ecosystem reached a major milestone with its September 2024 acquisition of Center City-based Cesium, the pioneering creator of the 3D Tiles format, adopted by Google and the Open Geospatial Consortium as the international, open 3D standard. By uniting Cesium’s foundational geospatial engine with Bentley’s iTwin Platform, the combined organization has established Philadelphia as a global epicenter for 3D digital twins and open-source geospatial technology. With Cesium's vibrant developer community remaining firmly anchored in the city, Bentley continues to invest in the region as a tech hub for the software that empowers the professionals who design, build, and operate the world's infrastructure.
