CALGARY, Alberta: Modern Medicine has lacked a shared language to fully serve Women’s Health, until now.

Canada based My Normative, a Women’s Health research and innovation platform currently serving 12 projects across 5 countries, launched The Persons Project (TPP) to advance the field of Women's Health through improved data liquidity and research. The goal: sex and gender informed clinical paradigms and improved health outcomes.

This large-scale Real World Evidence (RWE) project, set up for global participant engagement, is designed to generate novel data insights and clinical enhancements across diverse fields.

Today, The Persons Project is entering its next phase.

With over 30 participating organizations across seven (7) nations (with even representation across academia, industry, public sector, and patient advocacy) The Persons Project is uniquely positioned to accelerate impact in Women’s Health.

More than 60% of pharma revenue comes from treatments for conditions that uniquely, differently, or disproportionately affect women, and yet, women continue to face delayed diagnosis across 770 diseases. Closing that gap requires new protocols and interventions, clear adoption pathways for regulators and public stakeholders, and implementation partners who can reach underserved populations directly.

“The Persons Project’s ability to bring all sectors to the table to create alignment and opportunities to advocate for change to the status of Women’s Health is central to the vision and mandate of the Women’s Health Coalition of Canada,” Carmen Wyton, Chair of the WHC and Co-Author of Bill S-243 (CAN), stated. “We’re so proud to be contributing to this work.”

“Working with the team to advance their work from exclusively academic research to be inclusive of areas of impact seen downstream in care and innovation internationally has been a critical innovation to their process that holds the real potential to change the field of Women’s Health,” said Dr. Claire Badenhorst, Director of Research, Allied Health, EMHS-ECU (AUS).

“Digital enablement through better data is the frontier of Women’s Health innovation,” said Kim Wieringa of IBM Canada. “Through the standardization and integration of different verticals, a very real opportunity to reach, and drive impact, in areas deeply underserved by most modern innovations in Women’s Health can emerge.”

“Women represent over 50% of the population and are major adopters of health innovations -By serving their health needs better, we can create a better Commonwealth, and a better world,” said Arif Zaman, Executive Director, Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network (UK). “We’re proud to have their team among our delegates for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting to share their progress in this space.”

In the next phase of The Persons Project, My Normative is working with local and international partners to generate and incorporate novel data standards into remote and underserved patient environments to unlock better access to care and robust health data for women today and tomorrow.

“This is just the beginning,” said Danika Kelly, CEO of My Normative. “The potential scale and impact of The Persons Project is generational… and this team of collaborators we have around us? It makes it all feel possible. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.”
