Brokers now see Highway's best-matched, vetted carriers for a lane right where they set the buy rate.
NEW YORK: Transfix, a leading transportation management system (TMS) provider for freight brokers and 3PLs, today announced that Highway's Lane Intelligence is now live inside Transfix custom cost models. When a rep prices a lane, cost models now show the carriers Highway ranks as the strongest match for that lane, right next to the target buy rate. Brokers can price freight and find vetted capacity to cover it in a single step.
The launch builds on the partnership Transfix and Highway announced in June, which brought Highway's Carrier Identity® vetting into the Transfix TMS. That integration answered whether a carrier can be trusted. This one answers which trusted carriers are best positioned to run a lane, at the moment the broker decides what to pay for it.
Lane Intelligence runs on the same capacity matching engine behind Highway's Trusted Freight Exchange (TFX). The engine scores every qualified carrier against the origin and destination being priced. It looks for carriers that have posted trucks for the lane, have equipment near the origin or destination, or have run the lane before.
Brokers can narrow results by equipment type, insurance minimums, safety rating, and certifications. Transfix cost models already generate rates that are 98% on par with the market. Now a pricing rep can see both the rate and the carriers most likely to run the lane, and quote with confidence that capacity is there to back it.
Every carrier in that list is held to the same compliance rules as the rest of the broker's network. Highway's rules check decides whether a carrier can be covered, and continuous monitoring flags compliance and insurance changes in near real time. Once a load is tendered, Highway Load Lock watches the assigned carrier for signs of fraud, and the carrier signs the rate confirmation only after two-factor authentication.
"Bringing Lane Intelligence into Transfix cost models was the natural next step for this partnership," said Michael Caney, Chief Commercial Officer at Highway. "Transfix brokers already rely on Highway to vet the carriers they work with. Now the carriers they see when they price a lane come from that same trusted network. When brokers work with Highway and Transfix, they don't have to worry about their carrier vetting strategy. It's built in from the first price to the signed rate con."
"The Supreme Court's ruling in Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II made it clear that choosing a carrier is a broker's responsibility, and brokers can be held accountable for that choice," said Jonathan Salama, Co-Founder and CEO of Transfix. "Since May, carrier vetting has come up in nearly every conversation we have with brokers. They need to grow without taking on more risk or more headcount. Pricing a lane and trusting the carrier who runs it can't live in separate tools. Bringing Highway's Lane Intelligence into our custom cost models gives brokers the tools to scale on a foundation they can stand behind."
Highway's Lane Intelligence is live now in Transfix cost models. Brokers who sign with Transfix before the end of 2026 can take advantage of launch incentives. To learn more or request a demo, visit transfix.io/get-started.
