The combined company brings cinematic-quality AI video editing to advertising and entertainment studios worldwide
PALO ALTO, Calif.: Whisper World and Rembrand today announced their merger and the launch of WRLabs, a new global AI technology company developing cinematic-quality video editing for advertising, media, and entertainment.
WRLabs brings together Whisper World's global leadership in premium in-content advertising and Rembrand’s pioneering AI video technology. The combined company operates across three principal product lines:
At the heart of WRLabs is Rembrand’s proprietary AI platform, which enables brands and content owners to augment and edit professionally produced video with photorealistic precision while retaining control over every frame.
Together, the WRLabs businesses reach around two billion viewers each month, work with around 3,000 advertisers and have completed over 100,000 in-content insertions. Together, they create the world’s largest platform of its kind, giving advertisers powerful new channels to reach audiences and enabling broadcasters, publishers and content owners to create new revenue from existing content.
Whisper World has built extensive relationships with broadcasters, content owners, and advertisers, establishing premium in-content advertising as a proven, scalable format across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Rembrand has pioneered AI-powered virtual product placement and precision video augmentation in the United States and Europe. Together, they form a global technology platform with the reach, relationships, and AI capabilities required to deploy video augmentation at unprecedented scale.
“Whisper World has helped hundreds of advertisers extend their campaigns into new markets through a consistent, standardized approach to in-content advertising,” said Manav Kapoor, CEO of Whisper. “By integrating Rembrand’s AI platform, we can increase our production capacity dramatically, potentially delivering ten times the volume, while maintaining the precision, quality, and creative control our broadcast partners expect.”
“We developed Rembrand to bring the power of AI to augment professionally produced video, without taking away the control or authenticity from the people who create the content,” said Omar Tawakol, CEO of Rembrand. “Our first application of that AI was to fix the fundamentals of an advertising ecosystem that was too reliant on interruption. By combining our technology with Whisper World’s international reach, broadcaster relationships, and proven in-content advertising model, we can give advertisers access to high-quality, unskippable placements across global content.”
Augmentation, Not Generation
WRLabs is built on a fundamental distinction: using AI to augment human creativity, not replace it. Instead of generating entirely new video, WRLabs technology works within professionally produced content and advertising. It integrates approved brand assets into existing footage with photorealistic accuracy while letting content owners and production teams retain creative control.
The platform is built around three important principles:
This augmentation-first approach positions WRLabs at the intersection of artificial intelligence, visual effects, and advertising, providing a brand-safe, broadcast-quality alternative to conventional generative-video tools.
Rembrand’s technology is already deployed across Whisper World’s in-content advertising operations. WRLabs also plans to make its AI editing platform available more widely through an API and its forthcoming VFXAgent.
Described as a “coding agent for visual effects,” VFXAgent lets video editors and production teams use natural-language instructions to perform sophisticated augmentation on existing footage. This will extend the potential applications of Rembrand’s technology beyond advertising into wider media, entertainment and post-production markets.
