SAN FRANCISCO: #FCMostInnovative--SpotOn, the top-rated software and payments partner for restaurants and small businesses, has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious list of the Most Innovative Companies for 2024. SpotOn earned the standing of number 9 in the Dining category, which recognizes companies driving the restaurant industry forward through technology.

SpotOn joins the ranks of past winners like Open AI, AirBnB, and Microsoft on the Most Innovative Companies list because the software and payments company continues to revolutionize restaurant technology year after year. In 2023, SpotOn debuted both Seat & Send, a first-of-its-kind waitlist feature, and a suite of new, maximally flexible hardware to help keep its clients competitive in an industry facing rising food and labor costs with already razor-thin margins. The innovation continues with the company’s release of SpotOn Marketing Assist, its first automated, AI-enabled marketing tool for restaurants.

“We are thrilled to see SpotOn’s innovative advancements to restaurant technology recognized by Fast Company,” said Matt Hyman, Co-CEO of SpotOn. “At SpotOn, we aim to provide the best technology solutions to independent restaurants, giving them an edge to operate as efficiently as possible. Our new products and features released in 2023 were a cut above the rest, and we have already seen great success among those using them,”

Seat & Send, launched in June of 2023, is a new feature available through SpotOn Restaurant, a fully integrated restaurant management platform. After checking in or joining a restaurant’s waitlist, Seat & Send allows guests to pre-order food or drinks to be sent to the kitchen immediately after the guest is seated. By significantly reducing the time between when a customer arrives at a restaurant and when they receive their order, the Seat & Send solution enhances satisfaction for diners while improving operational efficiency and increasing profits for restaurants.

SpotOn’s new suite of hardware, also released in 2023, was designed with restaurateurs to meet the evolving needs of modern restaurants. The three new devices, a 15.6” Station, 10” Station, and 6.5” Handheld emphasize flexibility by allowing for multiple configurations, making it easy for restaurants to adapt the hardware to fit their business, both in function and appearance. Combined with SpotOn’s #1 rated restaurant point-of-sale software, the proprietary, patent-pending hardware suite is the perfect solution for any restaurant, whether it’s a stylized, fine-dining restaurant or a local burger shop with counter service.

SpotOn has continued its momentum in 2024 with the recent release of SpotOn Marketing Assist, an AI-enabled marketing tool to simplify marketing tasks for independent restaurants. SpotOn is the first point-of-sale provider to offer an automated restaurant marketing solution for email and social media campaigns. SpotOn Marketing Assist is already saving operators an average of 3-5 hours per week on marketing-related tasks and improving their restaurant email performance by 23%.

As restaurants continue to face rising labor costs and narrow profit margins, 58% of operators say it will become more common to use technology and automation to help address the current hurdles in the industry. These innovations from SpotOn give restaurants the ability to boost order accuracy, speed up checkout, increase bill sizes, and turn over tables quicker, helping them not only survive but thrive.

Since 2008, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies has been the definitive source for recognizing organizations that are transforming industries and shaping society, from the largest companies in the world to startups with just a few employees. The international award is open to businesses around the world.
