Versa Earns Recommended Rating with 99.87% Protection Rate and 15,811 Mbps Rated Throughput in Evaluation Comparing Leading Vendors Check Point, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, and Versa

SANTA CLARA, Calif.: #CyberRatings--Versa Networks, the global leader in Universal Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), today announced that Versa Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) received a Recommended rating from CyberRatings.org, the highest rating given by the independent testing lab. In its Q2 2024 Enterprise Firewall comparative report, Versa was the highest rated firewall tested, achieving both the highest Protection Rate score and the fastest Rated Throughput of all eight evaluated vendors. With Versa also receiving a Recommended rating in CyberRatings’ Q1 2024 Cloud Network Firewall comparative report, this latest recognition further affirms the superior performance, effectiveness, and value of the company’s firewall product.

Comparative Test Results for Enterprise Firewalls

CyberRatings.org uses empirical data from their testing to illustrate the relative value of security investment options for the enterprise firewall products tested. Versa NGFW achieved the following results:

  • Highest Protection Rate (99.87%)
  • Fastest Rated Throughput (15,811 Mbps)
  • Exceptional Price per Protected Mbps ($2.15)
  • 100% Effective in Resistance to Evasions

CyberRatings Test Process

CyberRatings.org provides transparency and expert guidance on cybersecurity risks through research and independent, objective product testing. The CyberRatings Q2 2024 Enterprise Firewall report features a Security Value Map™ comparing Check Point, Cisco, Forcepoint, Fortinet, Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, Sangfor, and Versa. CyberRatings’ strict testing environment emulated real-world digital traffic scenarios, with a focus on both encrypted and unencrypted data to ensure a comprehensive assessment of each firewall’s effectiveness.

Using the CyberRatings’ Austin, Texas, facility, the organization performed an independent test of Versa NGFW against the Enterprise Firewall Test Methodology v2.2. The product was subjected to thorough testing to determine how it handled TLS/SSL 1.2 and 1.3 cipher suites, how it defended against 1,509 exploits, whether its protection could be bypassed by any of 1,569 evasions, and whether the device would remain stable under adverse conditions. To provide a more realistic rating based on modern network traffic, both clear text and encrypted traffic were measured.

“Our commitment to delivering the most reliable, effective, and cost-efficient security products is underscored by the Recommended ratings that Versa consistently earns as a result of the rigorous real-world comparative testing that CyberRatings.org conducts each year,” said Apurva Mehta, Versa Co-Founder and CTO. “Enterprises rely on these independent test findings to make informed decisions, and they can depend on Versa for outstanding technology and value.”

Versa NGFW Delivers Industry-Leading Performance and Security

Designed for flexible deployment across cloud, virtual, and on-premises environments, Versa’s NGFW delivers protection across networks by combining advanced security, application awareness, and AI-driven threat prevention in a single scalable platform. Its unified console simplifies network security operations, ensuring high-performance and secure experiences for businesses looking to optimize efficiency without compromising on security.

“Versa, once again, performed extremely well in our newly released Enterprise Firewall report,” said Vikram Phatak, CEO of CyberRatings.org. “With a Recommended rating, the highest Protection Rate score, and the fastest Rated Throughput, Versa Next Generation Firewall is a solid choice for any organization.”
