Bringing controlled substance insights to 10,000+ physicians to empower life-improving actions during pivotal moments

LOUISVILLE, Ky.: The State of Hawaii and Bamboo Health™, the leader in Real-Time Care Intelligence™, today announced their partnership to help physicians and pharmacists reduce the risk of drug overdoses. The partnership provides enhanced Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) integration with electronic health records (EHRs) and pharmacy management systems used by healthcare providers and pharmacists in Hawaii.

Providers and pharmacies statewide can now access PDMP data directly within existing clinical workflows through Bamboo Health’s PMP Gateway® and PMP AWARxE® multi-state prescription drug monitoring program solutions. These tools seamlessly integrate data into health information systems, providing healthcare professionals with real-time insights to support more informed care decisions. The partnership aims to promote safer prescribing patterns, reduce the risk of a potential overdose and save care teams more time to focus on patient care.

“Advanced prescription monitoring improves the quality of care in our communities and combats the rise in drug overdoses. We are empowering our healthcare providers with the tools they need to make informed decisions and improve health outcomes for the people of Hawaii,” said the Narcotics Enforcement Division’s Acting Administrator, Michael Hartsock.

Bamboo Health’s technology provides prescribers and dispensers with multi-state prescription drug monitoring data and analytics, enhancing transparency into a patient’s controlled substance history and reducing the risk of possible substance use disorder. With this added insight, more than 10,000 physicians and 220 dispensers in Hawaii can now seamlessly integrate these insights into their clinical workflows.

“We are proud to partner with the State of Hawaii as they tackle the alarming rise in drug overdose death rates. Together, we are empowering healthcare professionals with Real-Time Care Intelligence™ that will enable safer prescribing practices and improve patient outcomes. This collaboration not only streamlines clinical workflows but also supports life-improving actions during pivotal moments in care,” said Jeff Smith, Chief Executive Officer at Bamboo Health.
