CHARLOTTE, N.C.: Wake Forest University School of Professional Studies (SPS) has partnered with Springboard, a leading online learning company known for preparing students for high-growth technology careers, to offer a series of intensive bootcamps. Charlotte, ranked #20 among the hottest tech cities in the U.S. according to the CompTIA Cyberstates Report, continues to flourish as a tech hub, with companies like Microsoft and Lowe’s investing in technology campuses in the area. These bootcamps are designed to equip learners with the skills needed to thrive in today's rapidly evolving tech landscape.

This collaboration offers three in-demand bootcamps that are accepting applications now:

  • Cybersecurity: This program equips students with the expertise to protect individuals and organizations from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of risk management, data privacy and security, and threat intelligence.
  • Data Analytics: This bootcamp delves into the world of data-driven decision-making. Students will learn how to analyze, interpret, and visualize data using industry-standard tools like SQL, Python, Excel, and Tableau, preparing them to transform complex data sets into actionable insights.
  • Software Engineering: This program equips aspiring developers with the full spectrum of web development skills, from front-end and back-end programming to database management and algorithms, also integrating the latest best practice on use of prompt engineering and other GenAI tools. Students will build real-world software projects to showcase their abilities to potential employers.

Data Science, Machine learning & AI, and UI/UX Design bootcamps are slated to launch later this year.

"This partnership with Springboard aligns with the Wake Forest University School of Professional Studies’ commitment to providing our students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in rapidly evolving technological fields," said Kerry Shronts, Executive Director for Executive Education at Wake Forest University. "Springboard’s bootcamps will provide our students and the broader community with access to cutting-edge training in high-demand tech fields, preparing them for successful careers in the digital age."

Springboard’s bootcamps are designed with busy professionals in mind. The programs offer a flexible, self-paced format, allowing learners to complete the coursework in 6-9 months, typically dedicating 15-20 hours per week. This structure empowers students to balance their education with other life commitments.

Springboard’s curriculum is developed in collaboration with leading tech industry experts and hiring managers. Students benefit from a blend of:

  • Rigorous coursework: Mastering the technical skills necessary for success in their chosen field.
  • One-on-one mentorship: Gaining personalized guidance and support from experienced professionals working in the tech industry.
  • Real-world projects: Applying their knowledge to practical scenarios and building a portfolio to showcase their skills to potential employers.
  • Career coaching: Developing a strong professional network, crafting compelling resumes, and mastering interview skills to land their dream jobs.

“We are thrilled to partner with Wake Forest, a top-50 national university laser-focused on providing career-advancing credentials,” said Andrew Moers, President, Consumer Business at Springboard. “This collaboration will provide learners with a unique opportunity to gain in-demand tech skills and launch successful careers in dynamic and growing fields.”
