Autonomous robotic weapon station proves its readiness to meet the demands of future conflict by engaging its largest drone swarm to date
FORT IRWIN, Calif.: Allen Control Systems (ACS), a leader in autonomous precision robotics for defense, announced the successful demonstration of its Bullfrog™ robotic weapon station at Project Convergence Capstone 5 (PCC5), held from February 26 to March 16 at Fort Irwin, Calif.
Bullfrog transforms legacy or modern weapons into precision-targeting systems using artificial intelligence, computer vision, and proprietary control systems significantly increasing their accuracy against unmanned threats. During Project Convergence, Bullfrog proved its readiness to meet the demands of future conflict by engaging its largest drone swarm to date, confirming kills on all 7 drone targets within range during a breach scenario.
“Bullfrog delivers the precision and cost-effectiveness required for the modern battlefield,” said Mike Wior, co-founder and CEO, Allen Control Systems. “At PCC5, we demonstrated not only the lethal effectiveness of Bullfrog, but also its rapid deployment, intuitive usability, and ability to integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure. This is a new class of autonomous defense capability, and we’re just getting started.”
Key highlights from the PCC5 demonstration include:
Project Convergence offered an opportunity to test Bullfrog in real-world field conditions, generating insights that will further enhance the system’s durability, target-switching efficiency, and low-light performance. Despite limitations in scenario reconfiguration due to environmental constraints, ACS delivered consistent results and demonstrated the platform’s adaptability in dynamic, multi-domain operational environments.
Bullfrog continues to prove itself across the three most critical military requirements: effectiveness, ease of use, and cost-efficiency. By leveraging existing weapon systems and reducing the cost-per-kill to the price of a single bullet, ACS is radically redefining the economics of unmanned threat defense.
