This strategic move strengthens OpenTeams’ mission to deliver customizable, open source-based AI systems to enterprises and government agencies while enabling Quansight to deepen its commitment to sustaining the open source ecosystem through its new structure as a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC).

Both companies were founded by open source pioneer Travis Oliphant, creator of NumPy, SciPy and co-founder of Anaconda. Quansight and OpenTeams have operated in close collaboration since OpenTeams’ inception in 2019, sharing a vision for ethical, community-driven innovation and the wide-scale adoption of open source technologies.
