SAN DIEGO: Psyx Research, Inc., a leader in immersive audio solutions and audio enhancement technologies, today announced the availability of Psyx’s next generation hemispherical rendering algorithms on Cadence Tensilica HiFi DSPs for Audio, Voice, Speech and AI, enabling rapid integration of Psyx algorithms to support immersive playback of all stereo content, without the need for physical height channels.
Psyx’s first-to-market wireless immersive audio solutions on Bluetooth SoCs utilizing the family of Tensilica HiFi DSPs are shipping now worldwide. Licensees are able to develop products ranging from headphones to multichannel systems with four or more virtual height channels, compatible with all legacy stereo content, including vinyl. Psyx’s new virtual height image map technology extracts and renders height information in real time to devices with any number of channels or configuration, removing the need for physical height speakers or specific mixing formats that depend on metadata for sound positioning.
