Annual MEDITECH LIVE event to highlight latest AI solutions and customer successes

CANTON, Mass.: #Expanse--MEDITECH today announced its latest strategic initiatives in artificial intelligence, which will be shared at the company’s annual customer event, MEDITECH LIVE 2025, on September 17-19 in Foxborough, MA. These advancements are accelerating the realization of an agentic user experience, where intelligent systems proactively support and automate tasks for clinicians, patients, and administrators within their native Expanse EHR workflows.

Artificial intelligence capabilities are integrated throughout Expanse and are prevalent in many new initiatives. MEDITECH’s AI capabilities are developed to support–not replace–users and ensure that care providers maintain control over decision making. One of the most exciting new AI features to be previewed at MEDITECH LIVE is MyHealth assistant, a chatbot in the MyHealth patient portal that will assist patients with several tasks, including summarizing health information and scheduling appointments.

MEDITECH will also introduce a chatbot for clinicians, embedded in their native workflow, that supports conversational interaction with the chart. Another AI project will enable clinicians to use voice interaction within the Expanse Now physician mobile app to summarize their upcoming schedule and key patient details to aid in visit preparation.

Throughout MEDITECH LIVE, MEDITECH and its customers will also provide status updates on the deployment of several of Expanse’s AI-powered solutions that are already making a positive impact. This includes one organization that reports saving an average of 7 minutes per discharge using generative AI to auto-generate discharge summaries. Other AI-powered solutions include: ambient scribing, no-show appointment prediction, automated patient messaging, and dynamic data search and summarization capabilities for clinicians.

MEDITECH also leverages AI to enhance interoperability by ensuring key information gathered across multiple disparate sources is presented in the workflow when and where it is needed. For example, Traverse Exchange, MEDITECH’s FHIR-based data exchange network, leverages AI to process and compile information from various sources into a single, coherent clinical view, adding utility around the data.

At MEDITECH LIVE, attendees will hear from several healthcare leaders who have adopted AI-powered technology to improve care and operations. These sessions include a panel discussion with healthcare executives discussing how they are using health IT to strengthen the clinician experience; a presentation by Holyoke Medical Center on how they have implemented ambient AI technology to improve provider job satisfaction, reduce physician burnout, and enhance patient care; and a session with Google Cloud Director of Healthcare and Life Sciences Solutions Amy Waldron on healthcare’s evolving AI landscape.
