Interplay and existing tech investors help accelerate growth with seed extension round

SAN DIEGO: TeachMe.To, the marketplace for finding and booking local in-person lessons, today announced that it has raised $3 million in seed+ funding, led by Interplay and with participation from existing investors, including Bling Capital and 1984 Ventures. The new capital will be used to accelerate an already rapidly growing marketplace, with 5,000 active instructors on the platform, over 30,000 students, and having delivered nearly 100,000 lessons to date. The funding will also advance technology and app development, including the building of additional AI features for learning enhancement.

“We’re not an AI company. In fact, we’re in the business of facilitating human-to-human interaction. But we’ve fully embraced the benefits and efficiencies that AI has to offer our company,” said Tyler Maloney, Founder and CEO of TeachMe.To. “In addition to AI powering our app through personalized lesson plans, auto-generated analytics, predictive overviews, intuitive scheduling and even swing analysis tools - capabilities and insights that add incredible value to both our coaches and learners - it has also enabled us to scale our business without increasing our headcount. In part because of our adoption of AI, the business is approaching profitability earlier than anticipated, so we were able to keep the raise small and avoid unnecessary dilution.”

TeachMe.To has demonstrated continued impressive growth, increasing completed lessons in the first half of 2025 by 46 percent year-over-year. The platform makes it easy for anyone to find and book local lessons with the closest, most affordable and friendliest coaches, while supporting the ongoing learning experience. TeachMe.To currently offers lessons in a dozen categories including pickleball, golf, tennis, music, yoga, soccer and more.

The platform’s robust functionality also enables talented athletes and experts to share and monetize their expertise by either building out their client portfolio or breaking into coaching entirely. The marketplace connects coaches with students from all backgrounds, whether they are seeking introductory lessons or ongoing training. Top earners on the platform earn thousands of dollars per month, while teaching a sport or skill that they love.

“The business made too much sense for us not to get excited about it,” said Michael Rogers, Partner at Interplay. “If you need pet care, you go to Rover to find a walker, if you have a task or odd-job that you need done, there’s a marketplace or app for that, but what about if you want to learn a new sport or you want to finally learn to play the guitar? TeachMe.To not only makes it easy to find, browse and book a local lesson, their platform actually adds significant value to the learning and coaching experience. We’re excited to see the heights that Tyler and Nick can bring this company.”

TeachMe.To lesson rates are set by instructors and range in price based on instructor demand. TeachMe.To delivers hundreds of lessons per day in more than 250 U.S. cities with an average instructor rating of 4.9 out of 5. For more information or to get started visit https://teachme.to/
