Career resilience panel on November 4 features education, workforce strategy and technology leaders Susan Winslow, Kristen Fox and Torian Richardson

NEW YORK: #edchat--Macmillan Learning, a privately-held, family-owned digital learning company, today announced a panel discussion exploring how expectations for high-potential talent are evolving. As generative AI accelerates organizational change across industries, “Career Resilience in the Age of AI” will examine how leaders across sectors are redefining the skills, mindsets and behaviors needed for success.

In their “Future of Jobs Report 2025” the World Economic Forum found that employers expect 39 percent of workers’ core skills to be disrupted within five years, and six in ten workers will require training by 2030. In industries transformed by AI, talent gaps are as much about leadership as they are about technical ability. To address this shift, Macmillan Learning is bringing together senior leaders from education, technology and workforce strategy to explore what executives now value most in rising leaders.

Featured speakers include:

  • Kristen Fox, Chief Executive Officer, Business-Higher Education Forum
  • Torian Richardson, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, DBR77
  • Susan Winslow, Chief Executive Officer, Macmillan Learning

The discussion will explore why competencies such as resilience, systems thinking, and ethical foresight are emerging as the defining traits of high-potential talent, all of which enable leaders to adapt to disruption, navigate complexity and build trust in AI-powered systems. Business school instructors, administrators, and students will be viewing the livecast of the webinar and participating in panel and small group discussions on the topic of career readiness for Business school graduates.

“This conversation is about what employers will need from people in the years ahead, the enduring human skills that will remain essential no matter how technology evolves," said Susan Winslow, CEO of Macmillan Learning. “At Macmillan Learning, we’re focused on what will make a successful human in the future, which is someone who can think critically, adapt continuously and work creatively alongside AI and other emerging technologies."

Winslow added that discussions like this one play a vital role in that process. Bringing people together in person to share ideas and shape conversations about the future of work, she said, is central to Macmillan Learning’s mission.

“Nearly 9 in 10 business executives and higher education leaders agree that partnerships between business and higher education are key to addressing rapid skills disruptions,” said Kristen Fox, Chief Executive Officer, Business-Higher Education Forum. “Through purposeful dialogue and planning across business and education their reach and infrastructure, colleges and universities are uniquely positioned to help scale AI readiness."

According to Torian Richardson, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, DBR77 career resilience begins with agency. “As tools move faster than our trust in them, the leaders who thrive will pair technical fluency with human attributes, especially courage. We’re looking for talent with the courage to adapt, learn, and lead through data-driven agility in real time. Legacy educational institutions must match that dexterity, rethinking how they prepare students and partner with industries moving at superluminal speed.”

Event Details:

Participants will also receive early access to the forthcoming, ‘AI Skills Development Framework: From Literacy to Mastery’, a resource developed by Macmillan Learning to help educators and employers identify and cultivate adaptable, future-ready talent.
