Rising compliance demands squeeze new and legacy OT teams seeking to scale quality and reach, not cost
BOSTON: #compliance--Raptor Maps today launched Raptor Comply, an automated NERC compliance platform that cuts the $110,000+ stand-up burden for smaller generator owners and operators by 30% or more.
The North American bulk power system faces daily cyberattacks and evolving physical threats. FERC / NERC's expanding standards - driven by concerns about threat sophistication and the reliability impacts of inverter-based resources (IBRs) - now require thousands of additional facilities to implement enterprise-grade security by May 2026. Smaller solar, wind, and battery storage operators face new compliance requirements amid industry-wide staffing shortages.
Major additions have also been proposed to CIP-003 for Low Impact facilities.
Based on FERC estimates, it can cost +$379,000 for a Medium Impact entity to establish a NERC CIP program and +$110,000 for a Low Impact entity. Those costs increase with each regulatory update.
Raptor Comply reduces this burden by bridging the gap between compliance administration and operational execution. The platform automates evidence collection, eliminating the manual burden that costs organizations over $62,500 annually.
“The timing couldn't be better,” said Nikhil Vadhavkar, CEO and co-founder at Raptor Maps. “Generator operators shouldn't have to choose between compliance and operational efficiency as they architect for scale.”
The platform enables smaller generators to achieve enterprise-grade security without enterprise costs, while larger operators can augment existing programs without adding headcount for unscalable manual processes.
“NERC CIP compliance is table stakes, but the real goal is achieving robust security without scaling resources proportionally,” said Eddie Obropta, CTO and co-founder at Raptor Maps. “Our platform embeds years of compliance expertise directly into operations. Teams don’t need to start from scratch - they can implement proven security frameworks from day one.”
Availability
Raptor Comply is now available for generator owners and operators across North America. The platform supports wind, solar, storage, hydro, and natural gas generator facilities of any size.
Raptor Comply is also available to managed security service providers (MSSPs) as a delivery platform for their customers’ compliance programs.
