ATLANTA: #AIInfrastructure--Lightbits Labs (Lightbits®), inventor of the NVMe® over TCP storage protocol, today announced a collaboration with Arctera, a global leader in data management. Together, the companies will showcase performance-optimized, resilient storage for Red Hat® OpenShift® environments at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2025 (Booth #1153). The joint demonstration will feature Lightbits’ software-defined NVMe/TCP storage integrated with Arctera InfoScale, delivering a unified, cost-efficient, and high-performance foundation for OpenShift Virtualization, containers, and AI workloads.

Application-First Resilience, Accelerated

Traditional virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, and Hyper-V, were built around infrastructure-first resilience, designed to keep hosts and virtual machines running. In contrast, OpenShift and InfoScale redefine resilience around applications and data, ensuring business continuity at the service level across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Together with Lightbits’ NVMe/TCP storage, resilience transformation is accelerated, enabling enterprise-grade HA and data protection at NVMe-class performance using standard Ethernet infrastructure. The solution integrates Lightbits’ software-defined NVMe/TCP multi-purpose block storage with Arctera InfoScale to deliver SAN-class High Availability (HA), unmatched performance, and cost-efficiency.

Robert Terlizzi, Head of Product Marketing at Lightbits Labs: “This collaboration showcases the power of open, software-defined infrastructure. By combining Lightbits’ NVMe/TCP storage with Arctera InfoScale’s proven HA capabilities, organizations can run AI, analytics, and virtualized workloads on OpenShift with the performance and resilience required for today’s most demanding applications.”

Enterprise-Grade Performance and Availability for Modern Workloads

The combined solution enables OpenShift customers to:

  • Simplified Management: Run VMs, containers, and AI workloads on one unified platform with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.
  • True HA and Resiliency: Achieve near-zero RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and true zero RPO (Recovery Point Objective), ensuring HA even across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Cost Optimization: Reduce data center footprint by up to 80%.
  • AI-Ready Flexibility: Run data-hungry AI applications with ease, whether on-premises or on the public cloud.

Attendees can book demonstrations and meet with experts from Lightbits Labs and Arctera to explore how to modernize OpenShift operations for performance, resilience, and scale.

About Lightbits Labs

Lightbits Labs® (Lightbits) invented the NVMe over TCP storage protocol, embedding it natively into their software-defined block storage to deliver ultra-low latency and exceptional throughput while leveraging commodity infrastructure-essential for reducing the cost and complexity of data infrastructure at scale. Built from the ground up for high performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency, Lightbits software delivers the best price-performance value for real-time analytics, transactional, and AI workloads. Lightbits Labs is backed by enterprise technology leaders [Cisco Investments, Dell Technologies Capital, Intel Capital, Lenovo, and Micron] and is on a mission to deliver best-in-class block storage for performance-sensitive workloads.
