Upcoming ISG Provider Lens® report will assess how providers enable AI-driven procurement transformation for supply chain resilience and compliance

STAMFORD, Conn.: $III #AI--Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm, has launched a research study examining how service providers are helping enterprises meet their evolving procurement goals.

The study results will be published in a comprehensive ISG Provider Lens® report, called Procurement Services, scheduled to be released in April 2026. The report will cover companies offering services related to modernization of procurement operations, end-to-end sourcing and category management and supplier and contract lifecycle management.

Enterprise buyers will be able to use information from the report to evaluate their current vendor relationships, potential new engagements and available offerings, while ISG advisors use the information to recommend providers to the firm’s buy-side clients.

Rapid business transformation continues to redefine procurement, and evolving provider and assessment approaches are allowing enterprises to adapt to new requirements. Disruptions occurring around the world, including geopolitical instability and evolving regulations, have intensified the need for resilient, diversified and localized supply chains. Sustainability remains a core enterprise priority, leading companies to seek responsible sourcing. Globally, enterprises are embracing AI-driven decision-making, agile operating models and outcome-based procurement strategies. Many are using generative AI and autonomous procurement to deliver hyperpersonalized procurement experiences.

“Integration of advanced technologies is transforming procurement operations,” said Namratha Dharshan, chief business leader, ISG. “For enterprises, real-time spending insights are becoming essential, and metrics such as supply chain resilience and supplier risk indexes are emerging as critical benchmarks.”

ISG has distributed surveys to approximately 50 providers. Working in collaboration with ISG’s global advisors, the research team will produce three quadrants representing procurement services the typical enterprise is buying, based on ISG’s experience working with its clients. The three quadrants are:

  • Procurement Operations Modernization Services, evaluating providers helping clients improve procurement through AI-driven automation, predictive analytics and environmental, social and governance (ESG) features. They are also assessed on skills around implementing autonomous procure-to-pay, spend intelligence and risk modeling.
  • Strategic Sourcing and Category Management Services, assessing providers’ ability to deliver AI-powered sourcing, category optimization and ESG-aligned supplier collaboration. Key criteria for evaluation include GenAI-enhanced analytics, market intelligence and agile category management to generate financial and operational value.
  • Supplier Management and Contract Lifecycle Services, covering providers with expertise in performance and relationship management, onboarding/offboarding and contract administration. They are examined on their risk and compliance management capabilities, including supplier performance and regulatory monitoring.

Geographically focused reports from the study will cover the global procurement services market and examine products and services available worldwide. ISG analyst Tarun Nathooram Vaid will serve as the author of the report.

A list of identified providers and vendors and further details on the study are available in this digital brochure. Companies not listed as procurement service providers can contact ISG and ask to be included in the study.

All 2025 ISG Provider Lens® evaluations feature expanded customer experience (CX) data that measures actual enterprise experience with specific provider services and solutions, based on ISG’s continuous CX research.
