BURLINGTON, Mass.: #innovation--The Massachusetts Innovation Network marked the conclusion of its 2025 Eddies Season last night with the Annual Innovation Celebration and Awards Night. This year’s eight-month program kicked off in March, engaging nearly 100 startup teams across six Innovation Tracks. Nineteen teams advanced to the final, live phase of the competition on October 15, where they delivered dynamic four-minute pitches and showcased their breakthrough technologies.
Throughout the program, the finalist teams benefited from tailor-made mentorship, focused entrepreneurial workshops, and hands-on guidance designed to boost their growth and scaling efforts. The program culminated with yesterday’s Evening of Innovation.
The event featured two alumni highlights:
During the event, Lawrence “Larry” Nannis was honored for 40 years of serving as a mentor for this program (fka NE Innovation Awards). Kelly McInnis -whose father Robert Crowley founded this program in 1986- and Todd Faber -who chaired the program for 12 years- presented Larry with the 40 year achievement award. Larry continues to share his knowledge and expertise with founders on one-to-one basis, and helping them better understand the financials and ways to manage them successfully. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Larry for his unwavering support of startups and founders since day one of the program.
This year’s Eddies (and cash prizes) were bestowed to the following startups:
Biotech: RedPoint Oncology
Cleantech: Polyose Bio
Deeptech: PriMetaz
HealthTech: SGAI Healthlink
Medical Devices: Microvitality
Minority/Female Owned: River Otter
We extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes for continued success to all our Founders, Finalists, and Winners. We look forward to following their journeys and celebrating their future successes and milestones!
We wish to thank all our Mentors, Judges and Sponsors who enable us to continue providing our support to startups free of charge: Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Business Development, Nutter, BerryDunn, GET Group NA, Massachusetts Life Science Center, Sanofi, Scytáles, Teknos Associates, Northeastern University Center for Research Innovation and Middlesex Savings Bank.
