BENSENVILLE, Ill.: LECIP INC., a consolidated subsidiary of LECIP Holding Corporation (TOKYO: 7213), has been awarded contracts for the supply of fare collection systems from Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and Collier County.
The combined value of these two contracts is approximately $12.7 million. Each contract includes five years of maintenance and operational support for the respective fare collection systems. Delivery and operation are scheduled to commence in 2026. These orders represent LECIP's seventh and eighth fare collection system contracts in the United States.
LECIP will provide complete cash fare collection systems, including cloud-based back-office systems, for the entire transit bus fleets of both OCTA and Collier County.
Order Details:
1. LECIP has received an order for a fare collection system from OCTA, which manages freeways and public transportation, including commuter rails and buses, in Orange County, California. LECIP will supply an end-to-end farebox system for cash collection, consisting of 592 bus fareboxes (including spares), garage devices and a back-office system. The system incorporates a card-based access control system, enhancing revenue security. The back-office system will be hosted on a public cloud service, managed by LECIP. OCTA operates 52 bus routes with 508 buses, transporting 37 million passengers annually (2024).
2. LECIP has been awarded an order to provide a farebox system from Collier County doing business as Collier Area Transit (CAT). LECIP will supply an end-to-end farebox system for cash collection, consisting of 33 bus fareboxes with ticket printers (including spares), garage devices and a back-office system. The farebox will be integrated with CAT’s existing cashless fare payment system and will be capable of printing QR-coded paper tickets. The back-office system will be hosted on a public cloud service, managed by LECIP. CAT operates 17 bus routes with 30 buses, serving the Naples, Marco Island, and Immokalee areas of Florida. In 2023, CAT transported 845,000 passengers.
