- Recognition validates operator-led approach to solving administrative burden that costs U.S. healthcare system $31B annually-
SOUTHLAKE, Texas.: Authparency.ai, an AI-enabled prior authorization platform purpose-built for healthcare providers, announced today that it has been awarded First Prize at the inaugural Southlake Innovation Cup, hosted by the Southlake Foundation. The Innovation Cup brought together entrepreneurs, operators, and innovators to showcase solutions addressing real-world challenges across industries.
Authparency.ai was recognized for its differentiated approach to solving one of healthcare’s most persistent and costly problems: prior authorization. The administrative process, which delays patient care and drives up costs, requires healthcare providers to obtain insurer approval before delivering treatments or services. Unlike traditional automation or AI-only tools, Authparency.ai combines deep operational expertise with thoughtful application of artificial intelligence to streamline workflows, reduce delays and denials, and alleviate administrative burden for providers.
“This award is especially meaningful because it comes from fellow entrepreneurs and operators who understand that real innovation is not just about technology, but about execution,” said Manish Jain, Co-Founder and Vice President of Authparency.ai. “Prior authorization is a process problem, not just a software problem. This recognition validates our belief that AI must be grounded in operational reality to truly improve healthcare.”
“Our experience building and scaling workflow automation for large enterprises showed me that sustainable innovation comes from understanding operational friction firsthand,” said Sapan Bafna, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Authparency.ai. “Winning first prize reinforces that our execution-focused approach resonates with people who have built and scaled real businesses.”
Authparency.ai is incubated by Oncospark, Inc., a healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) company that has helped healthcare organizations tackle complex back-office challenges for more than a decade. The platform leverages workflow automation expertise from Outamation, an enterprise workflow automation company also led by Bafna, combining proven automation capabilities with healthcare-specific operational knowledge. This foundation has enabled Authparency.ai to launch as a post-revenue business with active pilots already processing real prior authorization transactions in hospital systems.
The company plans to leverage momentum from the Innovation Cup to accelerate deployment across hospital systems, deepen payer-specific intelligence through expanded transaction volume, and formalize strategic partnerships with EHR vendors and healthcare networks throughout 2026.
The Southlake Innovation Cup marks a significant milestone for Authparency.ai and underscores the growing demand for practical, operationally informed AI solutions in healthcare.
