TORONTO: Class8 today announced the launch of its platform with Daimler Truck North America, expanding access to a full suite of solutions designed to help carriers operate more efficiently in one of the most challenging freight markets in recent history.
Beginning today, Class8 services will be available to Freightliner customers operating FifthGeneration Cascadia and FourthGeneration Cascadia with CTP2, the vehicle’s onboard telematics platform that enables connectivity and data services.
Built for a Market Where Cost and Simplicity Matter
In a prolonged freight downturn, many fleets are forced to weigh the cost of connectivity against investments that actually improve performance. Class8 was built to eliminate that tradeoff.
At the foundation is a free, wireless Electronic Logging Device (ELD) service that removes installation and subscription costs while simplifying Hours of Service compliance. It also provides clear, easy-to-understand maintenance visibility, including alerts for battery health, engine overheating, and tire pressure, helping fleets avoid preventable downtime.
Alongside the ELD, Class8 offers tools designed to improve day-to-day decision-making without adding operational complexity:
Each service is offered independently, allowing fleets to start with what they need and expand over time.
Technology That Scales with the Carrier
Class8’s products are designed to work for a single-truck operator and a multi-fleet carrier alike. Fleets can adopt services incrementally, without heavy integration work or long-term commitments, and scale usage as their operation grows.
“Carriers are under real pressure right now, and most don’t need more software; they need fewer barriers,” said Chris Atkinson, CEO of Class8. “By pairing a free ELD with optional load and dispatch tools, we’re giving fleets practical ways to reduce cost, improve margins, and stay flexible in a difficult market.”
Expanding Access Through OEM Channels
This launch marks a key milestone in Class8’s expansion across OEM channels, broadening access to practical digital tools that help carriers operate more efficiently in a challenging freight market.
Availability
Class8 services will be available to eligible Freightliner customers beginning February 2026, with expanded vehicle support rolling out throughout the year.
