CHARLOTTE, N.C.: Old Well Labs (OWL), an AI-powered platform that helps allocators and investment managers find, monitor, and connect with one another, today announced a new strategic investment from Capital Allocators, Teamworthy Ventures, and Hammoud Ventures. The oversubscribed fundraising round was led by existing investor Nellore Capital, with participation from TFJ Capital and several other investors with deep experience in the industry.
OWL brings together data from thousands of global sources and transforms it into structured, searchable intelligence. The platform enables allocators and managers to discover relevant firms, monitor meaningful changes across the investment landscape, and build stronger, more informed relationships.
“Capital Allocators is thrilled to be an investor in Old Well Labs. OWL offers the most comprehensive and insightful look at publicly available data about managers and allocators I have seen in my career. OWL’s data around holdings, business information, and people tracking creates an unparalleled diligence package for both allocators and managers seeking to learn more about each other,” said Ted Seides, founder of Capital Allocators.
“From our first conversation in 2024, our investment team recognized that Campbell and the Old Well Labs team combine domain expertise as former endowment professionals and the technical ability to create and deliver new value to their customers. At Teamworthy Ventures, we have been fortunate to partner with several outstanding teams building software, data, and information services products for capital markets and financial services customers, including Carta, Vestwell, Lithic, Grata, and more. Similarly, we are excited to partner with the Old Well Labs team as they build and scale the best platform for connecting allocators and managers, addressing a real and growing need in the market,” said Thomas Lehrman, Managing Partner at Teamworthy Ventures.
OWL is led by Campbell Wilson, Zak May, Megan White, and Grant Carney, a team with deep experience across institutional investing and technology. Originally built as an internal tool, OWL is now used by leading endowments, foundations, OCIOs, family offices, pensions, and sovereign wealth funds, including Makena Capital, Pathstone, GEM Investments, DUMAC, Vanderbilt University, East Rock Capital, Star Magnolia, Investure, HF Capital, Virginia Tech, and many more.
“We’re excited to welcome three new investors who bring deep industry expertise and alignment with our mission,” said Campbell Wilson, Founder and CEO of Old Well Labs. “We built OWL to help allocators identify the right managers and significantly reduce the time and resources spent on ongoing monitoring. Today, many of the most sophisticated institutional investors rely on OWL in their daily workflow. As we expand, we’re introducing a curated group of fund managers to the platform, with participation driven primarily by invitations from our allocator community. Managers may also apply to join on our website.”
The new capital will support continued platform innovation, deeper data coverage, and the growth of OWL’s Charlotte-based team, whose experience spans Duke’s investment office, GEM Investments, Goldman Sachs, Bain, the Federal Reserve, Google, and Amazon.
