ATLANTA: Huper Corporation today announced the appointment of Josh Stephens as VP of Engineering, to lay the engineering foundation of the product, bring maturity to processes around software development, and build a team by recruiting and hiring people. With the mission of building the digital chief of staff for the long term, Stephens is working alongside founders Michael Anton (CEO), Andrew Howard (Chairman), and Aidan Kehoe (Co-Founder), to create a fast-moving team combining experience full stack generalists as well as AI and search specialists with an ownership mindset.
Huper is an always-on AI system that securely gathers and synthesizes information across emails, messaging platforms, CRM tools and other core workflows to generate real-time status updates, track execution, and surface decisions that require leadership. Unlike generic productivity tools that simply scrape data for surface-level summaries, Huper is powered by a proprietary AI Brain that continuously contextualizes information against specific goals and history. This allows the system to act as a digital Chief of Staff, delivering the strategic output of a seasoned executive. A long-time collaborator with Anton and Howard, Stephens brings decades of experience, passion, and a cybersecurity perspective to the product, which will launch officially this fall.
“Michael and Andrew are what attracted me to Huper, given their business ability and knowledge of what it takes to build something of quality,” said Stephens. “The company has a tremendous vision for its product, and is passionate about what the product can provide for people that need it. It’s exciting to be hands on with something that will make such a difference for the better.”
Stephens served previously as Software Development Manager at Warner Bros. Discovery, where he led engineering teams developing AI-enhanced search and personalization for HBO Max and Discovery+. Before that time, he was Head of Software Development (US) at Kudelski Security, and Senior Research Scientist at the Georgia Tech Institute. Stephens connected with Huper founders during this time.
“We couldn’t imagine a better leader to serve as our VP of Engineering than Josh, who has shown not only to have a significant expertise and aptitude for building products of significance that resonate with users, but also for building teams of the best possible people,” said Michael Anton, CEO and co-founder of Huper. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with him, which started at Kudelski Security, and create a digital chief of staff to redefine the workplace.”
In his role as VP of Engineering, Stephens will drive Huper’s technical vision and lead the engineering strategy to support the company’s growth. His appointment is effective immediately.
