Funding Underscores Growing Momentum for Point2’s Pioneering e‑Tube Technology Platform as the Interconnect Foundation for Future AI Data Center Infrastructure

SAN JOSE, Calif.: Point2 Technology, a developer of RF-based interconnect solutions for AI data center infrastructure, today announced an extension of its Series B round led by Maverick Silicon, with participation from NVentures (NVIDIA’s venture capital arm) and UMC Capital, bringing total Series B funding to $76 million.

The funding will accelerate Point2’s path to market, supporting the development and deployment of its Active RF Cable (ARC) platform, as well as future near-package (NPE) and co-packaged e-Tube™ (CPE) solutions for next-generation rack-scale compute systems. The company is expanding its engineering and systems teams as it moves toward productization and deployment.

As hyperscalers deploy larger and more tightly coupled XPU clusters, interconnect-not compute-is emerging as a primary system bottleneck. Conventional copper solutions are approaching practical limits at higher data rates, while optical interconnects introduce trade-offs in power, cost, and system complexity.

Hyperscalers and accelerator vendors are increasingly seeking alternatives that can deliver reach, bandwidth density, energy efficiency, and cost at scale. This investment reflects growing ecosystem interest in Point2’s e-Tube platform as a new approach to scale-up interconnect - momentum further reinforced by the company's being named a BloombergNEF Pioneers winner for “Technologies for Sustainable, Scalable Data Center Infrastructure.”

“We are honored to welcome Maverick Silicon as the lead investor in this round, and deeply appreciate the support from NVentures and UMC Capital,” said Sean Park, CEO and Co-Founder of Point2 Technology. “As AI systems scale, interconnect is increasingly the limiting factor. Our e-Tube platform takes a fundamentally different approach-using RF techniques to deliver the reach, efficiency, and latency required for next-generation scale-up architectures. This investment reflects the growing ecosystem support around that vision.”

“Point2’s RF-based interconnect addresses critical limitations in scaling next-generation AI infrastructure,” said Andrew Homan, Managing Partner at Maverick Silicon. “We’re excited to support the Point2 team as they move toward commercialization and broad deployment.”

“Point2 has an elegant approach not only for higher bandwidth density but also for simplifying the cable alignment, allowing new possibilities in data center system design,” said Kris Peng, President at UMC Capital. “We are pleased to support the company as it advances toward commercialization and broader ecosystem adoption.”

About the e‑Tube Technology Platform
Point2’s e‑Tube Technology Platform is built on a well-patented RF signaling architecture that transmits data over plastic waveguides, enabling a new category of ARCs. e‑Tube delivers:

  • 10X reach of copper, 5X lower in weight, and 2X lower in cable volume at a comparable cost
  • 3X lower power, 3X lower in cost, and 1000X lower in latency without the reliability issues of failing lasers
  • Scalable bandwidth density designed for accelerator‑to‑accelerator compute fabric and rack‑scale interconnects, with form factors spanning pluggables cables, near‑package modules, and co‑packaged module solutions

About Point2
Point2 develops ultra‑low‑power, ultra‑low‑latency RF and mixed‑signal interconnect SoCs that enable scalable, high‑bandwidth‑density, multi‑terabit cable interconnects for AI and accelerated computing. The company’s e‑Tube platform introduces a new category of Active RF Cables (ARCs) that break through the limitations of copper and optics to scale up next‑generation data‑center architectures and future AI data‑center infrastructure.
