A Free Toronto Festival Where Accessibility, Inclusion, and Culture Come to Life

TORONTO: AccessNow, Canada’s go-to resource for accessibility information, today announces the return of AccessFest, a free, outdoor festival where accessibility, inclusion, and public space come together. Organized with support from the City of Toronto and Lead Sponsor TD, AccessFest brings Canadians together for a full day of performances and programming designed for everyone.

“AccessFest is about showing what’s possible when accessibility is built in from the start,” said Maayan Ziv, Founder and CEO of AccessNow. “We want Toronto to experience a space that celebrates disability culture, advocates for meaningful inclusion, and sparks a shared sense of belonging.”

Returning to David Pecaut Square in Toronto on Saturday, June 6, AccessFest offers programming that invites attendees to do more than observe. Every element is designed to encourage interaction, exploration, and connection.

The Main Stage will be headlined by X Ambassadors, alongside Canadian artists Haviah Mighty, renforshort, and DJ Crip Time. Additional performances include aerialist Erin Ball and an interactive workshop by Julian Ortiz, ASL interpreter for the Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime show.

Hosted by Courtney Gilmour, Juno-nominated comedian and media personality, the festival comes to life through a range of participatory experiences:

  • Unfiltered Stage: Unscripted conversations on topics like accessible travel, adaptive technology and sport, and relationships and representation, featuring voices like Dani Bowman from Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum.
  • MapMission Tours: Guided neighbourhood tours offering a new perspective on accessibility, including behind-the-scenes access to Princess of Wales Theatre and Royal Alexandra Theatre.
  • Inclusive Soccer Experience: Powered by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) and Soccability, inviting attendees of all abilities to participate.
  • Wellness & Regulation Spaces: Therapy dogs, chair yoga, sensory-friendly environments, and quiet areas designed to support diverse needs.
  • Accessible Vendor Market: Featuring disabled-owned businesses and local creators.
  • The Access Tent: A central hub providing on-site supports including ASL interpretation, sighted guides, and attendant care.

Powered by a growing coalition of government, community partners, and sponsors, AccessFest 2026 builds on last year’s foundation with expanded support. Returning partners include CBC, Motion, National accessArts Centre, The Daniels Corporation, and Sunshine Therapy Dogs. New partners include CIRA, Google, MLSE, Pet Valu, PwC, Toyota Mobility Foundation, Uber, YMCA and TD.

“AccessFest is a powerful example of what Toronto does best, bringing people together in ways that reflect our values of accessibility and creativity,” said Mayor Olivia Chow. “By highlighting the talent, leadership, and lived experience of people with disabilities, this event moves us closer to a city where everyone can fully participate in public life. I am proud to support this free festival and invite everyone to join us on June 6 at David Pecaut Square to experience it.”

“At TD, we believe that access is a shared responsibility. It takes collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to keep learning and improving,” said Maja Neable, Global Chief Marketing, TD Bank Group. “That’s why we are proud to sponsor AccessFest and support its work to help remove barriers, clear pathways, and advance disability inclusion.”
