PLEASANTON, Calif.: StarSpark, an AI-powered learning platform for students, parents and educators, today announced the launch of its connected, adaptive learning system, a major step in the company’s mission to make high-quality, personalized learning easier for all users.

The system pairs purpose-built AI instruction with personalized practice, helping students learn new concepts, get instant support when they struggle, master material and review over time. Parents can stay informed and assign work without micromanaging or relearning the subject themselves, while teachers can quickly generate standards-aligned lesson plans, slide decks and student worksheets ready to customize for class.

StarSpark’s system is anchored by the company’s Personal AI Teacher, which retains each student’s past sessions, challenges and misconceptions to personalize what comes next; a deterministic engine that is 99.9% accurate because it computes answers rather than predicting them; and content grounded in peer-reviewed academic textbooks through Rice University OpenStax.

Together, these capabilities let StarSpark close the full learning loop: teach, learn, practice and master.

For students, StarSpark addresses one of the most persistent problems in learning: getting stuck with no help at the moment of need. On multiple-choice work especially, students can guess and move on without learning, and many struggling students never ask for help. StarSpark’s active intervention is designed to break that pattern. When a student guesses rapidly, misses a question or shows a misconception in their reasoning, the AI Teacher intervenes inside the assignment, guides the student through the concept and provides targeted practice before returning them to the original work.

“Our differentiator isn’t the content; it’s the teaching,” said Bansal. “We don’t wait for a student to ask for help. When they get something wrong twice or start guessing, we step in with a real teaching moment, not a hint. This helps the students build deeper conceptual understanding and move forward with confidence.”

StarSpark also evaluates reasoning, not just final answers. When a student explains the steps to their solution, StarSpark compares their reasoning against the correct solution path, affirms what is right and pinpoints where the logic breaks down. The system then tags the underlying misconception, so future practice can target that exact weakness.

Interactive lessons with concept checks, quizzes, a teaching assistant and interactive simulations ensure the student actually masters the concepts. Built into every course topic and subtopic, the AI-powered lectures allow students to learn new material, review concepts and immediately apply what they have learned with the AI Teacher. The content is generated from peer-reviewed academic materials, supporting accuracy, course coverage and alignment.

“A lecture you only watch is the old model,” said Bansal. “We made lectures interactive, converting a passive learning into active learning and ground it in peer-reviewed textbooks, so the moment a student learns something they practice it, and the system catches whatever didn’t land.”

For parents, StarSpark’s adaptive system runs with no setup and full visibility. The parent chooses the grade, the diagnostic shapes the plan, automatic review is on by default and the Parent Portal shows where their child stands while also letting parents assign additional work to their learner.

For teachers, StarSpark reduces the burden created by general AI tools. Teachers are experts in teaching, not prompt engineering. Getting a usable lesson plan, worksheet or slide deck out of general AI tools often requires learning how to prompt for the right pedagogy, structure, depth and scope, which changes by subject, topic and grade.

StarSpark removes that friction. Teachers provide the goal and StarSpark applies the right learning-science approach for the topic and grounds the output in vetted materials. Teachers can pick from learning-science options, let StarSpark select the best approach for the specific topic or paste in school or district instructions with optional notes for extra context. StarSpark then generates a customizable slide deck, editable Word document and student worksheet. Because the platform handles both the content and the design, teachers can focus on classroom-specific details, instead of running multiple prompt iterations to reach a usable draft.

StarSpark also gives teachers greater visibility into student progress. Class diagnostics show progress at the standards and misconception levels, while follow-up remediation can be generated automatically for students who score below threshold. This helps teachers move from planning to instruction to intervention without having to manually grade, track and recreate materials.

As StarSpark expands its platform, the company has also been awarded a grant to use Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) AI and cloud technology to support its mission of making high-quality, personalized learning more accessible. StarSpark was also selected for a $100,000 Cambiar Thrive grant recognizing its innovative use of AI to deliver targeted feedback and Socratic instruction while giving students and caregivers clearer insight into learning progress.
