Experienced go-to-market leader to build Digimarc’s global commercial organization and accelerate customer adoption

BEAVERTON, Ore.: Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC), the company building the trust layer for the modern world, today announced the appointment of Ron Thomas as Chief Revenue Officer, effective August 3, 2026.

Thomas will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Carreiro and will lead Digimarc’s global revenue organization, with responsibility for sales, customer success, revenue operations, solution advisory, partnerships, and the company’s broader go-to-market strategy.

Thomas brings extensive experience building and scaling enterprise software revenue organizations, developing high-performing commercial teams, and helping companies translate differentiated technology into measurable customer outcomes. He joins Digimarc from Smartcat, an AI-native enterprise software company, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer.

“Digimarc has reached a point where commercial execution is every bit as important as innovation. We've built differentiated technology and established strong customer relationships and validated the value of our solutions in the market. Ron's mandate is to scale our world-class commercial organization which translates those advantages into predictable, scalable growth. His experience building disciplined revenue teams makes him the right leader for this next chapter,” said Paul Carreiro, President and Chief Executive Officer of Digimarc.

As Chief Revenue Officer, Thomas will focus on strengthening Digimarc’s commercial operating model, sharpening market and customer prioritization, and establishing a more integrated approach across Digimarc’s go-to-market functions.

“Digimarc has all the ingredients to become a market leader-a world class technology platform, outstanding customers, and a significant market opportunity," said Thomas. “I'm excited to join Paul and the leadership team and be part of this journey. My priority is to listen to our customers, partners and employees, sharpen our commercial focus, and build a disciplined, customer-centric revenue organization that delivers predictable growth and long-term value."

Prior to Smartcat, Thomas held senior revenue and operating leadership positions at data.ai, Oracle, and Ariba. Most notably, he spent several years at data.ai, ultimately serving as Chief Revenue Officer, and helped grow the company from roughly $100 million to more than $150 million in annual recurring revenue and into a Rule of 40 business, culminating in a successful private equity exit. Earlier, he was at Eloqua from pre-IPO through its $800 million acquisition by Oracle, and he began his career at Ariba, later acquired by SAP. He holds a B.S. in Economics from Rutgers University. His appointment further strengthens the leadership team as Digimarc advances its strategy under Carreiro, who assumed the role of President and CEO in July 2026.
