Recognition comes as Gartner projects the observability market to reach $14.3 billion by 2028, increasingly driven by managing telemetry volume rather than the adoption of advanced AI features
SAN FRANCISCO: groundcover, the world’s leading bring-your-own-cloud (BYOC), eBPF and OpenTelemetry (OTel)-native observability platform, today announced it has been named an Honorable Mention in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Observability Platforms.¹ We believe the Gartner report evaluates vendors offering unified platforms that span telemetry collection, analysis and action across cloud-native, hybrid and on-premises environments, including support for AI workloads and agentic systems.
groundcover's approach centers on a bring-your-own-cloud (BYOC) architecture that keeps customer telemetry inside their own cloud environment, paired with an eBPF sensor that captures full-fidelity data without code instrumentation. Check out our real-user monitoring, part of our broader shift toward observability build towards agentic systems rather than dashboards a human checks after something breaks.
"We see this further recognition as confirmation that the market is catching up to where we placed our original bet that observability has to be complete, unsampled, and owned instead of leased," said Shahar Azulay, CEO and co-founder of groundcover. "Our roadmap is focused on building that for the agent era, starting with the AI-native teams and autonomous agents that depend on it."
The Gartner report notes that the observability market in 2026 is characterized by growing tensions between technical aspirations and operational constraints. It says that the emergence of AI architectures challenges traditional approaches to observability, and the industry’s shift toward autonomous operations remains limited. The market is moving toward greater scrutiny of the actual ROI of agentic systems, where the value of autonomous investigative tools may be offset by their complexity, cost and overall accuracy.
