NEW CASTLE, Del.: #800G--FS, a global network infrastructure provider, recently announced the D7070 Series Integrated 800G Muxponder, extending its Data Center Interconnect (DCI) portfolio to span from 100G to 800G for data center, metro, and regional networks.
“As AI and cloud workloads accelerate inter-site traffic growth, customers need DCI networks that can scale with demand while maximizing existing infrastructure,” said Bener Peng, Product R&D Manager at FS. “By introducing 800G capabilities, we provide agile, future-proof solution paths across diverse transmission rates and multivendor environments.”

Extending DCI Transmission to 800G

Engineered for low power consumption and high reliability, the 1U D7070 Series platform aggregates 100GbE and 400GbE services onto four 800G coherent wavelengths, reaching a 3.2 Tb/s total capacity. The platform flexibly supports 100G QSFP28, 400G QSFP112 client pluggables, and 800G CFP2-DCO coherent line pluggables. This empowers networks to directly interconnect with next-generation, ultra-high-speed core networks.
Beyond hardware performance, the D7070 features an open software architecture and standardized management interfaces (WebGUI/CLI). This ensures seamless integration with third-party Network Management Systems (NMS), dramatically simplifying multivendor network operations.

A Broader DCI Portfolio for Diverse Scenarios

The expanded FS DCI portfolio supports client services across Ethernet, OTN, SONET/SDH, and Fibre Channel. FS now offers five specialized solution paths:

  • Rapid-deployment 100G point-to-point DCI: Powered by the D5110 Series, enabling fast, automated deployment of links up to 120 km for disaster recovery and enterprise networks.
  • Secure 200G short-haul & access DCI: The D710 Series offers a cost-effective 200G OTN platform featuring AES-256 Layer-1 encryption and multi-protocol support, ideal for secure metro aggregation.
  • High-density 400G short-reach DCI: The compact 1U D6000 Series supports 400G ZR/ZR+ optics, delivering low-latency, high-density connectivity for data center and metro networks with flexible capacity scaling.
  • 400G medium- and long-haul DCI: The D7000 Series delivers up to 19.2 Tb/s per fiber pair, while flexible service access and optical/electrical configurations help maximize fiber utilization across metro and regional networks.
  • Ultra-High-Speed 800G DCI (NEW): Anchored by the D7070 Series and FS 800G ZR Tunable DWDM CFP2 DCO Coherent Module, delivering unprecedented scalability and simplified wavelength management for advanced AI workloads.

Looking ahead, FS remains committed to advancing DCI research and development, focusing on higher-speed transmission, intelligent optical line systems, and bringing the entire DCI portfolio under the centralized control of FS AmpCon Management Software for automated, end-to-end network operations.
