Joint Integration Equips SpotOn Restaurants with 24/7 AI Phone Answering, Helping Operators Recover Lost Revenue and Run Smarter Shifts

NEW YORK & SAN FRANCISCO: Maple, one of the leading voice AI platforms for restaurants, and SpotOn, one of the leading software and payment companies for restaurants and small businesses today announced a strategic partnership to provide 24/7 AI-powered phone ordering to restaurants on the SpotOn point-of-sale. The collaboration combines SpotOn's operator-first restaurant operating system with Maple's voice AI to give merchants a faster, more profitable way to handle inbound calls, from orders to reservations to FAQs.

The partnership tackles a problem that has quietly drained restaurant margins for years. Industry data shows phones go unanswered on roughly one in three incoming calls during service, and a single location can lose north of $30,000 in unrealized phone orders each year. For multi-unit operators, the lost revenue compounds across every location, every shift.

"Answering phones is a constant challenge for many operators - the phone rings exactly when the team has the least bandwidth to answer it," said Bryan Solar, Chief Product Officer at SpotOn. "Bringing Maple into the SpotOn ecosystem means the restaurants we work with can capture every order, and keep their team’s focus on the guests in front of them, and run a smarter shift."

"SpotOn has earned a reputation for showing up for operators in a way few technology companies do," said Aidan Chau, CEO and Founder of Maple. "This partnership lets us deliver enterprise-grade voice AI to SpotOn's restaurants with a deployment process that takes minutes, not weeks. From the first ring on day one, the AI is taking accurate orders and putting them straight into the POS."

Built for Operators, Designed for Scale

Maple integrates directly with SpotOn's restaurant operating system, syncing menus, modifiers, pricing, and availability automatically. Restaurants can launch in minutes with the AI handling complex orders accurately on the first call, and operators can manage every location from a single dashboard.

What the integration delivers:

  • Native POS sync: Phone orders captured by Maple flow into SpotOn instantly, routing orders through the point-of-sale to kitchen display systems and kitchen printers, alongside in-store and online orders
  • Live menu mirroring: Menu edits made in SpotOn (86s, price changes, new items) are reflected in Maple in real time
  • Portfolio-level controls: Centralized reporting, configuration, and customization across multiple locations
  • 24/7 answering: Every call is answered including after-hours, holidays, peak rushes, weekends
  • Beyond ordering: Maple also fields reservations, catering inquiries, hours and directions, and frequently asked questions, so guests always reach a knowledgeable voice

A Joint Answer to a Persistent Industry Problem

The missed-call gap has long been treated as a staffing issue, but operators across dining styles agree the math doesn't work: hiring dedicated phone staff is rarely cost-effective, and the calls themselves cluster in the busiest, hardest-to-cover windows. The Maple and SpotOn integration reframes the problem, putting AI to work where it has clear ROI and letting front-of-house teams stay focused on hospitality.

Since launching in December 2023, Maple has answered over 1 million calls for restaurants and resolves 96% of them with zero human intervention. With the SpotOn partnership, that capability is now available to SpotOn's nationwide restaurant clients.

Availability

The integration is generally available to SpotOn restaurants in the United States. Merchants can activate Maple directly through the SpotOn Dashboard or by visiting maple.inc.
