SAN FRANCISCO: The AI Conference, the leading conference for applied AI, has announced a full agenda of sessions with AI builders from Anthropic, crewAI, Google, Modular, NVIDIA, Ollama, OpenAI, Warp, and more that address both the business and technical perspectives of building AI systems and the constraints of deploying them at scale. The event program fosters a lively interdisciplinary dialogue the industry needs to move AI from vision into production.

"A lot of AI conferences are still focused on what's possible. This conference is about what's actually happening with AI, what is working, what is not, what really smart people are noticing, and what they are doing about it. That's the agenda we ended up with, and it's extremely compelling," said Shon Burton, founder of The AI Conference.

The conference will take place during AI Week SF, from September 29 to October 1 at Pier 48 in San Francisco, and offers sessions from AI builders, researchers, and leaders that give attendees clarity and perspective on building, researching, and investing in AI with topics including:

  • What’s coming next: reasoning, robotics, and user-owned AI
    • Talks from Stanford HAI’s Peter Norvig, Anthropic’s Emmanuel Ameisen, robotics researcher Sergey Levine, and NEAR AI’s Illia Polosukhin span AI’s next breakthroughs, models’ internal representations, robot foundation models, and user ownership.
  • What AI development delivers and where it falls short
    • Brian Yang shares lessons learned from building a $100M product in six weeks at OpenAI and why the advantage does not come from a magic prompt. Greptile’s Daksh Gupta shares his analysis of one million AI-generated pull requests and how their quality compares to human-written code.
  • How people are actually using AI
    • Malika Aubakirova and OpenRouter’s Chris Clark share new information on the largest empirical studies of real-world LLM usage to date. They analyzed 100 trillion tokens of inference data from the OpenRouter platform and will examine how models are actually used in practice across tasks, geographies, and time.
  • What makes an AI company endure
    • LTSE Service’s Eric Ries and O’Reilly Media’s Tim O’Reilly will share their combined decades of perspective on technology cycles, founder responsibility, the systems that determine which companies endure, and what it takes to build AI companies that matter.
  • The realities of AI governance and responsible AI
    • The Washington Post’s Gerrit De Vynck will sit down for a fireside chat with JPMorganChase’s Terah Lyons in addition to moderating a regulatory panel featuring California Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, sharing with the audience insights into implementing AI responsibly while regulatory expectations evolve.

Inaugural AI Week SF

The AI Conference is happening during AI Week SF, a new community initiative that reunites independently organized AI-focused events across San Francisco, happening simultaneously from September 28 to October 2 in offices, labs, galleries, rooftops, and warehouses, including talks, workshops, dinners, demos, and late-night sessions.
