WASHINGTON: FilterLabs today announced the appointment of Erol Yayboke, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, as its new CEO. Jonathan Teubner, who co-founded FilterLabs and has served as CEO since the company’s inception, will retain an active role in the company’s leadership as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.
“Erol combines deep operational expertise with world-class networks across the defense and intelligence communities,” said Teubner. “He has earned the trust of our entire team and board, and I'm confident he's the right leader to take FilterLabs into its next phase of growth.”
Yayboke joined the FilterLabs team as Chief Research Officer in January 2025 and has served as COO since April 2025. He is also a Senior Fellow (non-resident) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Prior to joining FilterLabs, he served at the Pentagon as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary of Defense; as a Senior Advisor in the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance at USAID; and in CSIS’s International Security Program, where directed the Project on Fragility and Mobility.
Teubner co-founded FilterLabs in 2021 with David P. Smith, now the company’s Chief Product Officer. The company’s flagship product, Ubiquity, is designed to address the growing gap between data volume and decision quality, delivering source-verified, hyper-local signals that enable faster, more confident analysis in high-stakes environments.
“Everyone at FilterLabs is guided by the founders’ determination to solve the thorniest data problems in the toughest information environments,” said Erol. “The result of Jonathan and David’s vision, innovation, and leadership is that the company is now poised for rapid growth in the defense, intelligence, and other government spaces alongside an increasing number of commercial verticals. I’m honored and humbled to have been asked to take FilterLabs into its next stage.”
