The new SpeechLive Legal AI Assistant reduces the administrative burden on legal professionals through customizable document drafting powered by speech recognition tuned for legal terminology
VIENNA: #ambientai--Speech Processing Solutions, the global leader in AI-assisted professional dictation and documentation solutions sold under the Philips brand, today announced the Philips SpeechLive Legal AI Assistant. The new solution transforms voice recordings, dictation and uploaded sources into structured, ready-to-review legal documents, helping legal professionals work faster while retaining control of the final draft.
SpeechLive Legal significantly reduces the time needed to transform voice input into structured legal documentation, delivering consistent and high-quality drafts and featuring SpeechLive's built-in integrations with leading case management platforms such as Actionstep, Clio, iManage and NetDocuments, supporting existing billing, email and case management workflows.
The AI Assistant is powered by Speech Recognition Legal, a dedicated engine that recognizes legal terminology, case citations and phrasing that generic speech recognition tools often miss. It accurately transcribes consultations, case notes, depositions and other legal recordings. SpeechLive Legal then places key facts and relevant information into a system or custom template.
Users can select a preloaded template or generate a customized template on demand through the AI Assistant chat using natural language prompts, such as “Create a template for an attendance note.” The AI Assistant builds a structured template with the appropriate sections and placeholders, which users can refine and save to their personal library. This flexibility helps legal professionals create documents relevant to their jurisdictions.
Users can also upload supporting documents, PDFs and images. The AI Assistant extracts relevant information from these sources and the audio to populate the template and provide additional context for the draft.
“SpeechLive Legal brings speech processing to the next level,” said Dr. Thomas Brauner, CEO of Speech Processing Solutions. “The AI Assistant is built specifically for legal professionals who want to spend less time on documentation and more time on billable work, client service and strategic legal matters.”
By combining established workflows with legal speech recognition and AI-assisted drafting, SpeechLive Legal reduces routine documentation work while keeping professional judgment and human oversight at the center of the process.
SpeechLive Legal is built on the established Philips SpeechLive platform, trusted by tens of thousands of legal professionals worldwide to create, route and manage dictation, speech recognition and transcription workflows. It supports different legal document types, practice areas and established ways of working.
The Philips SpeechLive Legal AI Assistant will be available from August 12, 2026, in 19 countries across Europe, North America, Australia and South Africa. New customers can purchase a complete subscription bundle that includes the SpeechLive platform, Speech Recognition Legal and the Legal AI Assistant. Eligible SpeechLive customers can add SpeechLive Legal to their current subscriptions.
