Mesh-Over-Everything brings multiple frequency bands, waveforms and third-party 5G infrastructure into one adaptive network
MALVERN, Pa.: #5G--Rajant Corporation today announced its participation in Project Convergence Capstone 6, or PC-C6, a 10-day U.S. Army event held at Fort Irwin, California.
PC-C6 brought together approximately 10,000 participants from across the Joint force, multinational allies and partners, and industry to experiment with emerging technologies in complex, realistic scenarios. The event focused on continued validation of the Army’s Next Generation Command and Control architecture at division scale.
Working with the DEVCOM C5ISR Center during the experimentation, Rajant technologies directly supported the 11 Armored Cavalry Regiment (Blackhorse) with its Mesh-Over-Everything approach using the wireless FE1 Peregrine BreadCrumb® radio operating in L-, S- and C-bands, a third-party V-band system, and 5G.
Rajant’s InstaMesh® protocol dynamically handled switching between bands and waveforms on a packet-by-packet basis without user intervention. Transmit power was adjusted dynamically for improved low probability of intercept (LPI) and low probability of detection (LPD), and enhanced electronic-warfare handling was enabled.
Rajant also demonstrated its SLP-1025 SlipStream software-defined networking solution, extending the mesh over third-party 5G modems and linking it with the tactical network.
“PC-C6 is exactly the kind of environment where adaptive networking should be exercised alongside other technologies and across different communications paths,” said David Acker, Vice President of Technology at Rajant. “The value of Mesh-Over-Everything is not any single radio or band. It is the ability to bring those paths together and allow InstaMesh to manage them packet-by-packet without user intervention. We valued the opportunity to work with the DEVCOM C5ISR Center and demonstrate that approach.”
