COLUMBUS, Ohio: McGraw Hill, Inc. (NYSE: MH), a leading global provider of education solutions for preK–12, higher education and professional learning, today announced a new collaboration with Anthropic to make its trusted K-12 curriculum available to McGraw Hill’s school district customers within Claude for Teachers. Using the MCP (Model Context Protocol) standard for AI, Claude for Teachers will enable educators to securely access their licensed McGraw Hill curriculum resources to create lesson plans, learning tools and personalized experiences tailored to the needs of their students.
The collaboration will make McGraw Hill one of the first major K-12 core curriculum providers to connect its proprietary content with Claude for Teachers. Claude for Teachers, introduced by Anthropic in July, provides verified U.S. K–12 educators with free access to Claude alongside connectors to evidence-based curricula and other education tools. McGraw Hill’s TeachFX, an AI-native instructional coaching platform that the company acquired in September, is already part of the Claude for Teachers ecosystem.
Educators will be able to use Claude for Teachers with the McGraw Hill curriculum their district is implementing, helping teachers create and adapt instructional materials grounded in the high-quality curriculum already supporting teaching and learning in their classrooms.
The launch marks another step in how McGraw Hill is shaping agentic AI for education by making its trusted content, created by world-class authors and grounded in proven pedagogy, available through trusted AI agents. As AI evolves from general-purpose models toward more specialized experiences, teachers will be able to operate in a secure environment to adapt their instructional materials, support teaching needs, and personalize learning in real time, while McGraw Hill protects the value of its content, authors and learning solutions.
“AI has tremendous potential to support teachers when it is integrated with the trusted curriculum educators are already using every day,” said Jana Thompson, President of McGraw Hill’s School group. “Our work with Anthropic complements our core business, helping us meet teachers where they are and giving them greater flexibility in how they engage with our content in a way that maintains curriculum coherence and quality. At the same time, it demonstrates how we can use emerging AI platforms to extend our reach, increase our impact, and create new avenues for growth.”
The collaboration reflects McGraw Hill’s broader approach to help schools use AI responsibly and effectively, extending the company’s work to embed AI-powered capabilities like Teacher Assistant, Writing Assistant and TeachFX within its own products, while also securely enabling its trusted curriculum to work effectively with the technology ecosystems schools and educators choose to use. The launch of the McGraw Hill learning agent in Claude for Teachers is one part of McGraw Hill’s work with Anthropic to improve the teaching and learning experience. The company also recently announced the selection of Claude as an enterprise AI productivity solution to help its employees build AI fluency, accelerate learning and work more effectively across the organization.
