POWAY, Calif.: Decision Sciences International Corporation (“DSIC” or “Decision Sciences”) and KoBold Metals Company (“KoBold”) have agreed to collaborate in a multi-phase project for the design, development and deployment of a Muon Tomography enabled Muography Mining Industry Solution to be offered by DSIC to the mineral exploration and mining industry.

Decision Sciences and KoBold have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) whereby DSIC will leverage its proprietary expertise to design and develop a Charged Particle (Muon) Tomography Solution for the mineral exploration and mining market (the “Muography Mining Industry Solution”). DSIC will fast track an agreed upon design and specifications for the new Muography Mining Industry Solution, to be field deployed with KoBold, and for DSIC to ultimately provide a service offering to the global mineral exploration and mining industry.

DSIC’s unique and commercially available Discovery® system utilizes AI and ML advances with advanced physics to enable DSIC’s proprietary charged particle (muon) tomography technology, to locate and identify contraband, anomalies, threats and human beings smuggled within cargo and vehicles at Seaports and Land Borders, and at military and critical infrastructure sites. As in the global security industry where the interdiction of contraband and threats is fundamentally an imperfect information and search problem, DSIC’s unique data stream facilitates a more efficient and effective decision-making process and can therefore make a material difference in the mineral exploration and mining industry.

The data generated will enable the reconstruction of underground density signatures, enhance KoBold’s decision-making process and accelerate the development of mineral resources.
