New MyBloodHealth module provides real-time insights to prevent severe complications during pregnancy and improve maternal care outcomes

INDIANAPOLIS: hc1 today announced the launch of HerCare, an industry-first module within its MyBloodHealth platform designed to safeguard maternal health by identifying and addressing health risks associated with anemia in pregnancy. HerCare reflects the company’s commitment to technology that reveals vital health insights hidden in lab data, including those to enhance women's health and beyond.

Anemia in pregnancy is a common, yet preventable risk factor that is associated with complications such as post-partum depression, preeclampsia, and pre-term birth. Severe cases can lead to severe bleeding and high blood pressure disorders that pose significant risks during childbirth. Through hc1’s HerCare, obstetrics teams can analyze lab biomarkers and clinical data in real time to provide clinicians with actionable insights that prevent serious anemia issues before they become critical.

"At hc1, we are committed to improving women’s care, and our team created HerCare to prevent complications during and after pregnancy," said hc1 CEO, Founder, and Chairman Bradley Bostic. "HerCare identifies insights in lab data to proactively treat expectant mothers who have anemia, a critical risk factor in pregnancy. By leveraging our MyBloodHealth platform, hc1 is collaborating with leading healthcare organizations to close this critical gap in obstetric care by giving clinicians the tools they need to make informed, often life-saving decisions."

hc1 is rolling out HerCare to current MyBloodHealth customers on a limited basis. The company will offer HerCare more widely to hospital systems and obstetrics practices in late 2025.

HerCare aims to reduce preventable complications by:

  • Early Risk Detection: Identifying patients at risk through real-time monitoring of lab results and clinical data.
  • Personalized Care: Offering tailored insights to guide decisions that enhance patient safety.
  • Clinical Decision Support: Assisting healthcare providers with data-driven recommendations for timely interventions.
