HONG KONG: The debut Pet Call Challenge, hosted by PetPhone, the first smartphone made for pets, became the standout attraction of Hong Kong’s first Human–Pet Fashion Week “PET-SION.” The spectacle drew large audiences along the Avenue of Stars, where nearly 50 dogs-each wearing a PetPhone-jumped to trigger real-time voice calls to their owners. The contest ranked the pups by how many successful “pet-initiated calls” they made within the time limit, sparking laughter, cheers, and a buzzing atmosphere across the waterfront. The champion earned a round-trip tickets from Hong Kong to Osaka, and the event quickly drew widespread attention on social media.
PetPhone, developed by GlocalMe, a leading global mobile connectivity brand of uCloudlink Group Inc. (NASDAQ: UCL), pioneers as the first smartphone for pets, redefining emotional pet care with real-time, two-way voice calling far beyond traditional GPS trackers. By syncing wearable hardware with an owner’s mobile app, it enables voice bonding, global multi-layer positioning, AI-powered wellness insights, and a built-in community for pet lovers. When your furry companion initiates a “woof-call” or “meow-call,” distance turns into connection-helping ease separation anxiety, support travel scenarios, and provide reassurance in missing-pet or health-alert moments. It is a true game-changer in emotional pet-tech communication.
The PET-SION event drew over 20,000 visitors, with dedicated product experience zones and pop-up retail booths that generated strong engagement and immediate on-site purchases. Highlights included a human–pet fashion show and a “Paw Print Wall,” celebrating creativity, companionship, and the expanding role of technology in modern pet life.
A spokesperson from GlocalMe PetPhone added that the brand will continue deepening collaborations in areas such as pet training, wellness services, and everyday pet care to build a more connected pet-tech ecosystem. The company also plans to bring more immersive PetPhone showcases to more cities, aiming to make human-pet connection more accessible and emotionally meaningful for families everywhere.
