New Study Highlights Significant Productivity Gains, Cost Savings and Risk Reduction

NEW YORK: AppGate, a leader in Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), today announced the results of a commissioned Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) study conducted by Forrester Consulting. According to the study, organizations deploying AppGate ZTNA in a composite scenario achieved a 210% return on investment (ROI) over a three-year period and realized a net present value (NPV) of $11.6 million.

The study highlights how AppGate’s direct routing, cloaked infrastructure, and identity-centric controls delivered measurable business value across network infrastructure, end-user productivity, security enhancement, and streamlined IT operations.

Key findings include:

  • $17.1 million in total risk-adjusted benefits over three years, tied to reduced hardware and routing costs, productivity gains, automation, and increased uptime.
  • $5.5 million in present value costs (including licensing, deployment and management), yielding strong net benefit.
  • Less than six months’ payback period, enabling rapid return on the initial investment.
  • 50% reduction in networking technology and management costs, and 75% improvement in remote end-user productivity.
  • Up to 80% decrease in exposure to breach-related losses via segmentation, cloaking and dynamic access policies.
  • Significant labor savings, including more than 4,600 hours of technology management effort reallocated to higher-value tasks across IT, NetOps and SecOps.
  • Enhanced agility, enabling 90% faster integration of new sites and acquisitions.

“We believe these results validate what we have witnessed across our global customer base - that high performance ZTNA increases both security and efficiency,” said Leo Taddeo, CEO of AppGate. “With AppGate ZTNA, enterprises and government agencies not only protect their infrastructure, but unlock real financial and operational upside. This study gives organizations a strong, objective foundation to evaluate the business impact of Zero Trust network modernization.”

Forrester’s analysis demonstrates how AppGate ZTNA enabled fast, secure access for dynamic environments, keeping users productive anywhere while reducing network complexity and costs. Its identity-centric, flexible controls provide continuous visibility and compliance readiness-protecting critical resources without relying on legacy perimeter models or cloud-routed infrastructure.

The full Forrester TEI study provides a detailed methodology, assumptions, risk adjustments, and sensitivity analyses.
