Aviz Certified Community SONiC Offers Pre-tested Software Images Supporting Silicon from Leading OEMs: NVIDIA, Cisco, Marvell, and Broadcom

SAN JOSE, Calif.: Enterprise-grade SONiC adoption at scale is expanding with turnkey releases featuring the industry’s widest Ethernet ASIC support across edge, access, and core networks, supporting ASICs from NVIDIA, Cisco, Marvell, and Broadcom.

Aviz Networks today launched Aviz Certified Community SONiC, consisting of production-ready software distribution and support programs that accentuate simple, proven networking.

Building on SONiC’s maturity and adoption across publicly known hyperscalers and large enterprises, and Aviz’s own experience supporting more than 20,000 switch-years of real-world SONiC production, Aviz brings unmatched multi-vendor expertise to the SONiC ecosystem.

Working closely with hardware and ASIC partners, Aviz has developed a comprehensive lifecycle management system that includes the Aviz ONE Center, 500+ automated FTAS tests, and proactive support with bug fixes, RCA, and workarounds backed by strict enterprise SLAs - ensuring resilient, production-grade deployments. This deep validation and community-driven experience now converge in Aviz Certified Community SONiC - an open-source-based, enterprise-hardened distribution built for modern data centers and AI network fabrics. Aviz supports advanced capabilities such as IP CLOS, EVPN/VXLAN, and MLAG, and is tested across the industry’s most widely deployed silicon ASICs for ready-to-deploy scalability and reliability.

“Since 2023, SONiC enterprise deployment has shifted from early adopters to large, mainstream enterprises,” said Vishal Shukla, CEO of Aviz Networks. “Aviz provides a complete SONiC package that addresses the CIO’s top priority, accessing simple, turnkey deployments through software images that are backed by tested designs and support for the network switches and ASICs that they already use. This is how Aviz Certified Community SONiC changes the game.”

Executive Perspectives:

George Tchaparian, CEO, Open Compute Project Foundation

“Industry ecosystem and within it, Enterprises will benefit when open development communities and commercial validation come together. Certified Community SONiC aligns with OCP’s mission to accelerate community-driven collaboration, with openness, efficiency, faster TTM deployment, richer tested quality features, and choices in the data center.”

Alan Weckel, Co-Founder and Analyst, 650 Group

“Enterprise adoption of SONiC is moving from experimentation to scale. Having a certified, multi-vendor, enterprise-grade distribution like Aviz Certified Community SONiC accelerates that transition by removing the integration and validation burden from IT teams. This represents a pivotal moment where open networking can match the operational maturity of proprietary NOS offerings.”

Roy Chua, Founder and Principal, AvidThink

“Enterprises have been looking for a practical on-ramp to open networking that doesn’t compromise on features, reliability, and support. Aviz Certified Community SONiC addresses that need - an open-source foundation that’s validated, supported, and production-ready. It bolsters the case that open networking can achieve enterprise-grade readiness for mainstream deployments.”

Availability

Aviz Certified Community SONiC is available now through the official Aviz Certified Community SONiC list. Enterprises can register to download verified builds for supported switch SKUs or request additional SKUs, select their preferred hardware platforms, and review automated test results mapped to their specific configurations.
