SEOUL, South Korea: #AI--The Korea Artificial Intelligence & Software Industry Association (KOSA) said that it has conducted a Japanese market entry support program in Tokyo from November 17 to 19. In partnership with MegazoneCloud1, KOSA assisted 13 promising Korean AI and software companies in exploring growth opportunities in Japan.
1 Cloud managed service provider in South Korea

This initiative was part of the Co-Prosperity Global Expansion Support Program2 of the Korea Foundation for Cooperation of Large & Small Business, Rural Affairs (KOFCA). Hosted by MegazoneCloud and carried out by KOSA, the project leveraged the company’s global collaboration framework, local network, and infrastructure to support the Korean companies’ efforts to enter the Japanese market.
2 A project to support large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises in their overseas expansion.

The event was organized as a business meetup with major local partners, including a large Japanese SI corporation, a financial group, and a Major logistics group SIer.

Thirteen companies, including MakinaRocks, BI Matrix, Sionic AI, Scatter X, splap (Umoh), Ecopeace, Xcurenet, Opensurvey, WhaTap Labs, Korea First Tech, Crowdworks, CrossHub, and PiA Space, participated in the program and explored global partnership opportunities focused on advanced AI and software technologies, including generative AI.

Those companies received support through the host company and its local partner networks, including technology advancement consulting, overseas verification (PoC, NDA, etc.), local corporation establishment, PR and marketing, networking meetups, and local investment facilitation. Through these initiatives, the companies enhanced their global presence and built a stronger base for market entry in Japan.

According to the participants, the on-site programs allowed them to gauge market demand and observe Japan’s growing need for AI and software technologies-insights that significantly informed their future market-entry strategies.

Seo Seong-il, Executive Vice President of KOSA, said, “This program provided a chance for in-depth meetings between 13 companies and key departments of major Japanese companies, offering practical insights into the needs of the local market. We remain committed to bolstering the global competitiveness of Korean AI and software companies by expanding both the number of participants and the scope of our support to other key Asian markets outside Japan.”
