Scalable development platform consisting of Safety RTOSes, hypervisors, advanced development tools and C/C++ compilers, enable vehicle manufacturers to begin production-focused software development on the Synopsys Virtualizer™ Development Kit (VDK)
NUREMBERG, Germany: embedded world, Hall 4, Stand 325 - Green Hills Software, the worldwide leader in embedded safety and security solutions, today announced the availability of the most comprehensive production-focused software development environment for the new TDA5 SoC family from Texas Instruments running on its virtual development platform. Working closely with TI and Synopsys to assure an optimized integration, the Green Hills SDK (Software Development Kit) features safety certified RTOSes (INTEGRITY® and µ-velOSity®), the µ-visor® hypervisor, next-generation MULTI® multicore software development tools, and the safety-certified Green Hills C/C++ Optimizing Compilers. The Green Hills SDK is unique by supporting all Arm® processor core complexes on the TDA5: the Cortex®-A720, Cortex-R52+, and Cortex-M55. This unique capability significantly simplifies the software development and system prototyping for vision AI, ADAS and central compute for the next generation of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV).
To increase competitiveness while reducing BOM (Bill of Materials) cost and complexity, vehicle manufacturers are migrating their vehicle electronic architectures from fragmented and distributed ECUs to centralized and zonal compute architectures running on next-generation SoCs such as the TDA5 SoC family. To fully realize these SDV designs, the software foundation of these new designs must be safe, secure and scalable with a powerful development environment that shortens the time to develop and deploy. To support this, the TDA5 Virtualizer™ Development Kit from Synopsys is available today with complete Green Hills SDK support, enabling users to develop production-focused software before silicon is available.
“Green Hills is thrilled to be collaborating with TI and Synopsys for the new TDA5 SoC family, offering customers production-focused software solutions that are safety- and security-certified for use in the next-generation vision AI and central compute platforms,” said Dan Mender, Vice President, Business Development at Green Hills Software. “By utilizing the Green Hills safety-certified RTOSes, its µ-visor hypervisor for microcontrollers, and the OS-agnostic, multicore MULTI development tools on the TDA5 VDK from Synopsys, customers can efficiently develop and prototype with production-grade software, significantly reducing time and cost to production.”
“To accelerate the development of software-defined vehicles, the automotive ecosystem must collaborate more closely and deliver integrated solutions to automotive companies,” said Marc Serughetti, Vice President, Product Management at Synopsys. “Synopsys’ collaboration with Green Hills and TI brings together Synopsys VDK for the TDA5 SoC family, TI SDK, and Green Hills products for an integrated solution that enables OEMs and Tier 1s to “shift left” their development cycle, reduce costs, increase quality, and deliver vehicles to market faster.”
