AUSTIN, Texas: R2 Wireless, the defensive security technology company building a foundational layer for passive RF spectrum awareness, has raised more than $5 million in new funding, bringing total capital raised to over $13 million. The fresh capital will accelerate the company’s U.S. expansion, including engineering hires as well as defense and commercial partnerships following successful deployments in Europe and the Middle East.

Legacy radio frequency (RF) detection systems were built for stable environments, known protocols and frequencies, and not for the congested and contested environments in which modern anonymized threats operate... R2’s Odin spectrum dominance platform passively monitors radio frequency (RF) signals to passively detect, classify, and precisely geolocate transmissions from drones, cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth devices, as well as rogue devices and electronic warfare threats, providing radio frequency visibility without emitting signals, requiring permits, or creating privacy concerns.

Designed as a foundational visibility layer, the platform learns the RF environment in real-time to help military, government, and critical infrastructure operators understand potential threats and risks before taking action. The company recently entered into a formal agreement with a NATO member nation’s Ministry of Defense, further validating its role in allied defense modernization efforts. The company also signed a strategic agreement with one of Europe’s largest energy infrastructure providers and was named a winner in the U.S. Army’s xTech Disrupt competition in the C-UAS category among hundreds of applicants, underscoring its technical leadership in modern counter-drone operations.

“Rapid innovation in drone tech, electronic warfare and RF cyber renders existing detection solutions ‘blind,’ and the surge in low-cost, RF-based threats is outpacing traditional defense procurement cycles,” said Onn Fenig, CEO of R2 Wireless. “RF has become the backbone of modern threats, becoming a lethal weapon in the modern asymmetric battlefield and causing billions of dollars in damage. Governments and critical infrastructure operators must now defend against both physical and RF-based attacks. Connectivity is assumed – until it disappears. We’re building systems designed not just for performance, but for survivability in environments where failure isn’t an option.”

With growing demand for full-spectrum awareness capabilities, R2 Wireless is expanding its U.S. footprint, collaborating with key industry players, including Allan Control Systems for a full detect and defeat solution, and deploying its ODIN adaptive spectrum dominance platform with the Department of War, the Department of Homeland Security and emergency response organizations.

The company is also announcing the addition of retired United States Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel and TOPGUN Pilot and Senior Instructor, David Berke, to its advisory board. David is one of the architects of modern fifth-generation combat aviation, being one of the only pilots to fly the F-16, F-18, F-22, and F-35. David brings frontline combat leadership, TOPGUN training authority, and F-22 and F-35 operational command experience into the company’s strategic orbit. From flying combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan, leading Marines as a Forward Air Controller in ground combat, to standing up the Marine Corps’ first F-35 squadron and shaping next-generation warfare doctrine, Berke now advises R2 on bridging acquisition challenges across the DOW.

“Spectrum resilience has become a mission-critical capability just as kinetic weapons,” said David Berke, Advisor to R2 Wireless. “The spectrum environment is only becoming more contested and congested. R2’s software-first approach aligns with how modern defense systems must evolve - adaptable, intelligent, interoperable by design, and built for operational stress. What caught me at R2 was the bold vision of the team, the disruptive technology, but above all, the creativity, speed, commitment, and passion of the team solving one of the biggest problems in modern warfare as we know it.”

Built in Israel and the US, deployed in the Middle East and Europe in the most contested environments and validated under stress by the US Department of War in real operational scenarios, R2 Wireless is now scaling this capability in the U.S. defense, public safety, and critical infrastructure customers who need visibility before threats escalate.
